Many people have kept turtles and other small animals, but do you know that these small animals also have a level of protection, and buying and selling at will will touch the red line of the law. Recently, a man in Wuxi was sentenced for illegally trafficking in protected wild animals.

Although he knows that buying and selling wild animals violates the law, Hu still holds a fluke mentality. Between June 2017 and August 2018, Hu Mou, knowing that the tortoises he bought and sold were precious and endangered wild animals, still purchased them through WeChat and other networks, and then purchased them by courier transportation, alone or in conjunction with others, and successively purchased 25 leopard tortoises and 11 Herman tortoises.
It has been identified that the leopard tortoises and Hermann tortoises purchased by Hu are precious and endangered wild animals. The public prosecution pursued Hu and others for the crime of illegally purchasing and selling rare and endangered wild animals. Whoever, in accordance with the provisions of law, illegally hunts or kills rare or endangered wild animals under key national protection, or illegally acquires, transports or sells rare or endangered wild animals under key national protection and their products, shall be sentenced to fixed-term imprisonment of not more than five years or criminal detention and shall also be fined;
