There are many records in ancient texts about 兕, the most famous of which is the Analects, "The tiger is out of the tree, and the turtle and jade are destroyed by the tree." The beast came out of the cage, and the turtle jade was destroyed. Tiger Wu also said that it can be seen that The Tiger is also a fierce character.
Early classics such as the Classics of Mountains and Seas, Lü's Spring and Autumn, Erya, Zuo Chuan, Jin Shu, and Shuowen Jiezi have many records of Wu. It is out of the Mountains and Seas Sutra, but unlike other gods, it has really existed.
The ancients were very clear about the concept of rhinoceros, what kind of ghost is it, and what is the interpretation of "rhinoceros"? The language is unknown since ancient times. It is generally believed that a rhinoceros or a female rhinoceros is a rhinoceros. According to the records of the ancients, the goofy may be a large odd-hoofed animal, but the rhinoceros is indeed different.

(1) The ancient sayings see the beginning:
The sayings of "rhinoceros tiger bear" and "rhinoceros bear" are common in ancient texts. We say "Jackal Tiger Leopard", not "Jackal Tiger Worm", because the big worm is the tiger. The rhinoceros is both said to be the same thing, but may be a beast of the same family like the jackal.
Seven genera of rhinoceros, six genera of rhinoceros... Rhinoceros shou 100 years, 200 years of rhinoceros life... 丨 Zhou Li · Examiner's Note
This means that the quality of the skin nail is much better than the rhinoceros skin nail. Obviously, the rhinoceros is not a big cow at all.
(2) There is a mysterious reason for making words:
兕, the prefix is "concave", can be pushed this animal head or has a significant concave feature, from the front, or such as "兕" shape.
We often say that the rhinoceros, born a large and a small double horn, the most prominent sign is the front end of the big horn, thick and solid, abrupt and majestic.
If the word is a rhinoceros, and the word "convex" is more reasonable, why is it a "concave" word? Don't make words according to the routine.
What if this thing is called 兕? Shouldn't the word "兕" be "convex"?
(3) There is no evidence that the golem is a rhinoceros:
There is no record of the name of the rhinoceros, and there is no canonical record of the double horn, at least before the Jin Dynasty.
Before the Jin Dynasty, there were many objective records of Wu, and after literature embarked on the road to the peak, perceptual culture arose, and most of them appeared in cultural and literary images, rather than objective biology and geography. The Tang and Song dynasties were good at acting, and most of them were rumored to be false, and the Song Dynasty was able to spread the nine-tailed fox to Japan.

兕 is the female of the rhinoceros 丨 Song You Eunuch Ji wen old news of the evidence
The Tang and Song dynasties' theory that "the rhinoceros is a female rhinoceros" is not credible, and this theory is generally derived from literary sentimentality, which is somewhat taken for granted. In ancient times, there was a saying of "rhinoceros bears".
Bears are males and females (bears). Suppose, the rhinoceros is male, the rhinoceros is the female (rhinoceros), so the bear (pí) to the rhino (sì), high-end perfect! "The female rhinoceros" was said by the Tang and Song literati under the guise of Xiong Yizhi.

He was buried in The East of Shun, South of Xiangshui. It is shaped like an ox, black, and a horn. 丨Shanhai Jing· Hai Nei South Meridian
It is said that in the south of Xiangshui and the east of the tomb of Emperor Shun, there is such a unicorn beast, with an image like an ox, blue and black or dark. The reference to the tomb of the Emperor Shun here may imply that the object is extraordinary.
Keywords of 兕: cow-like, one-horned, blue and black.
Rhinoceros, like a pig. Oh, like a cow
JinXun scholar Guo Pu's note: Rhinoceros like a cow, pig's head, two horns, big belly, low feet and three hooves, black color... A corner, color blue, weighing three thousand pounds. He also said: It is like a bison, and its skin is thick, and it can be armored.
The Western Han bronze rhinoceros, with its double horns, is almost indistinguishable from today's rhinos. It can be seen that the ancient concept of rhinoceros is very clear and objective.
It is clear that the ancient concept of rhinos was very clear. The copper rhinoceros unearthed in the Western Han Dynasty was no different from today's rhinoceros. Then, before the Han Dynasty, it was believed that rhinoceros was not the same thing, when it was credible.
There is also a saying that "rhinoceros is a hippopotamus (like a pig said), and a rhinoceros is a rhinoceros", how to explain the Western Han copper rhinoceros? Rhinos and pigs both have a long nose with a convex mouth, which has similarities, and perhaps the ancients described the larger size of the rabbit.
It is clear that the rhinoceros is a rhinoceros, probably belonging to the same large chickadee, but different species. Rhinos are real things, but what about them?
This object is different from the two-horned rhinoceros, which has a one-horned horn and is covered in armor.
It is out of the Mountains and Seas Sutra, but it really exists, and it is not all the same as other divine beasts. In traditional culture, the uchi has the dual image of a natural beast and an auspicious beast, one because of ancient reverence, and the other because of the use of the uchiha as an armor.

During the Tang Dynasty, the water armor was still used as a tribute, which shows that the water armor is real. Tang Zhi documents do not dare to fabricate, "New Book of Tang", one of the 24 histories, Ji Chuan style, China's orthodox history genre history book.
The cattle have skins, the rhinoceros is still many, and the abandoned armor is that? 丨 Left pass
The "Second Year of Zuo Chuan Xuangong" reveals two pieces of information: (1) it confirms that the Zhou Li "Wu Jia" and the New Book of Tang "Water Jia" ;(2) show that rhinoceros are cattle-like animals, and the skin can be armored, but in the Tang Dynasty, the mule was already very rare.

As far back as the Time of the Book of Poetry, the horns were often used to make or decorate wine vessels and ceremonial vessels (兕觥和兕爵). This object is very noodle- and prestigious and blessed with cultural blessings, and it also reflects the cultural status of the Wu, which is not affordable for Xiaobian and you.
According to scientific research, rhinos were widely distributed in ancient China, and the number of rhinos was greatly reduced from the Warring States, which was related to rhinoceros armor. During the Tang and Song dynasties, rhinos accelerated from east to west and from north to south. In the late Qing Dynasty, the Chinese rhinoceros herd eventually became extinct in Yunnan. Oh, the leather armor quality is better than the rhinoceros, and the finish is faster...
The Javan rhinoceros, one-horned, resembles the Indian rhinoceros, but is smaller
Rhinos and elephants have disappeared in China, but neighboring countries such as India still have... Wu disappeared in China, is there any other country?
According to tusso: According to research, the shape is like an ox, the color is dark, the horn is raw, and it has a more obvious sense of armor and vision than the rhinoceros.
It is often said that the rhino has two horns, and its skin is thick as an elephant' flesh, but it has no obvious sense of armor. The rhinoceros family also has "one-horned rhinoceros": the Indian rhinoceros and the Javan rhinoceros. They are very similar (the Indian rhinoceros is larger) with a horn that is smaller than that of the two-horned rhinoceros, and there are obvious folds such as the shoulders and waist, resembling armor or scales. These two points are clearly different from the two-horned rhinoceros.
The Indian rhinoceros is a large, now vulnerable animal, but has historically been widely distributed in India, Nepal, Pakistan, Myanmar, Bangladesh, Bhutan, including China. And China's last Javan rhinoceros disappeared in Yunnan 100 years ago.
Isn't it very similar to the one-horned rhinoceros mentioned above? Refer to the figure below.
This perspective, the one-horn is short and not obvious, the left and right ears, the large wide face, the head is not like a "concave" type? Head + feet like the word "兕"?
According to scientific expeditions, there were three species of rhinoceros living in the land of China:
(1) Double-horned rhinoceros (Sumatran rhinoceros), with an average weight of about 1200 pounds, is the rhinoceros with the largest body size and the most body hair in the rhinoceros family.
(2) Small one-horned rhinoceros (Javan rhinoceros), with an average weight of 3,000 pounds, heavy skin, obvious folds at the shoulders and waist, and armor-like body.
(3) Large one-horned rhinoceros (Indian rhinoceros), starting from 3,000 pounds, thick skin, obvious folds at the shoulders and waist, and armor-like body.
The Sumatran rhinoceros that lived in ancient China was small, bibelly, and lacked the heaviness of the skin thickness and folds.
Looking back at Guo Pu's commentary on Erya:
Rhinoceros is like a pig, two horns; it is like an ox, one horn, weighs three thousand pounds, emphasizing that the skin is thick and thick, which can be nails. Rhinoceros has a large abdomen and a dark color.
The 1200-kilogram double-horned rhinoceros, more than 3,000 kilograms of one-horned rhinoceros, the gap between pigs and cows (ignoring the difference between ancient and modern measurements, intended to emphasize that the size of the horn is larger); the one-horned horned, dressed in armor-like thick skin. The above differences are common, and the ancients certainly believed that the rhinoceros was not a species, otherwise the ancients would have had a hard time distinguishing between jackals and wolves.
The ancients said that the horn is likely to be today's one-horned rhinoceros. It's just that in ancient times, wars continued to be fought, skins were taken as armor, and the ugliness became a victim, and there were fewer and fewer and fewer and fewer rhinos, and eventually disappeared in China.
Compared with rhinos, they are all horned, armored, and larger, and the ancients naturally thought that rhinos were different. It is now the Indian rhinoceros and the Javan rhinoceros.
Rhinoceros, is the ancient Chinese name for the two-horned rhinoceros, ☞ Sumatran rhinoceros (the smallest of the three).
兕, when it is the ancient Chinese term for the one-horned rhinoceros, ☞ the Javan rhinoceros (larger), or the Indian rhinoceros (the largest). It is larger and more armored, and has a more dignified status in the eyes of the ancients.
In addition, of all the rhinoceros families, only the Indian rhinoceros can swim, the Tang Dynasty's "water armor", does the water horn refer to the Indian rhinoceros?
What animal do you think it is? rhinoceros? hippopotamus? Daniel? 30 million years ago, the thunder beast reappeared? Or the bighead fish?
