Cultural tourism rejuvenates Qingshan Village

Qing Kangxi's "Chronicle of Lin'an County" records: "Fifteen miles to the east, the trees are verdant and the mountains are crowned. "Qingshan Village in Yuhang, Zhejiang Province, got its name from this. Nowadays, this small mountain village with a beautiful countryside like a paradise has gradually begun to appear in front of the world, conveying the original Chinese rural culture and implicit and inclusive roots, and the ancient village is moving towards the future in the integration of man, nature and culture.

"This library in the countryside, under the reshaping of the designers, allowed me to find the roots and place my nostalgia." Taking advantage of his leisure time, Mr. Liu, a citizen of Yuhang, specially came to the "Rong Design Library" to punch in.

In recent years, the Yuhang District Culture, Radio, Television, Tourism and Sports Bureau has focused on promoting the integration of resources for future rural construction, and through multi-party consultation and research, the "Rong Design Library" came into being. The library is a conservation renovation of the village's abandoned old auditorium, and the wooden rammed-earth building of the 1960s displays thousands of traditional Chinese handicraft materials, books donated by hundreds of designers and new designs from different countries in a modern way.

Designer Zhang Lei said: "Fusion has two meanings: the first layer is melting, and the second layer is fusion. Melt traditional Chinese craftsmanship into materials and craftsmanship, and then incorporate it into our contemporary designs. After the opening of the "Rong Design Library", it became a "net red punch card place", attracting nearly 20,000 visitors every year, driving the development of the cultural tourism industry in the village, and Qingshan Village gradually changed from a hollow village where young people fled to a trend village where craftsmen gathered.

Qingshan Village gives full play to the existing public welfare culture and aesthetic design advantages, and attracts cultural and tourism products featuring aesthetic education, public welfare practice, health and leisure, and green organic products around core products such as Longwu Reservoir Water Source Protection Area and Qingshan Nature School. Cultural and tourism activities such as Qingshan Happiness Summer Camp, "Five Senses of the Future" cultural theme activities, annual meeting of fusion design, and rice field music festival have revitalized the rural brand of Qingshan Village and triggered the "net red economy".

Yu Caigen is a craftsman in the village, in the process of exchange and learning with foreign designers, try to add cultural and creative design to the bamboo wind chimes, a "xiangyun" so that Yu Caigen wind chimes' annual export sales doubled, admiring his custom bamboo products in an endless stream.

"I really can't imagine that in the village, you can learn from international designers every day!" The bamboo craftsmen in the village never thought that they could discuss handicrafts with top foreign designers every day in front of their homes. In recent years, Qingshan Village has attracted dozens of top designers from home and abroad, who rent in villagers' homes, explore handicraft art, and participate in the production of handicrafts such as bamboo weaving, bamboo carving, metal weaving, and tenon with local villagers. With the gradual increase in the popularity of Qingshan cultural and creative products, local villagers have regained their confidence in traditional crafts. The collision and integration of new and old cultures in Qingshan Village has gradually brought Chinese traditional crafts to the world.
