After the battle, the people took the bodies of several of Thorin's men back to Wushan and buried the Aken Gem in his hands. Perhaps future generations will no longer be tempted by gemstones. The cousin succeeded to the throne. Bilbo Baggins followed Gandalf on his way home. At the border of the Shire, Gandalf is about to leave, and before leaving, warns Bilbo not to use the magic ring indiscriminately.
