Many people have read this famous poem by the Tang Dynasty poet Du Mu:
"Folding the sand iron is not sold, and the self-grinding and washing recognizes the front dynasty."
Dongfeng does not go with Zhou Lang, and Tong Que Chun deep locks Er Qiao. ”

The title of the poem is "Chibi", to the effect that the poet found a broken halberd in the Yangtze River, and after polishing it, deduced that it may be a relic of the Chibi War in the Three Kingdoms era. That big battle was very interesting, if it wasn't for the fact that Dongfeng had helped Zhou Yu a lot, then Eastern Wu would probably be finished. Erqiao, namely Big Qiao and Little Qiao, Sun Ce and Zhou Yu's wives would all turn into booty and be locked into Cao Cao's Tongquetai.
Judging from the superficial meaning of the poem, or according to my previous understanding, Tongquetai is really not a serious place, referring to the Lutai built by the King of Sui for himself, this platform seems to be the evil yuan of the lustful Cao Cao specifically used to harbor the beautiful women of the world, and the cadres such as Yuan Shao's wife, He Jin's daughter-in-law, Zhang Xiu's aunt and so on who were robbed by him are all locked up here.
If you understand it this way, it is completely distorted.
The most direct evidence is that when this platform was first built, Cao Cao was very happy, took a group of literati and his two talented sons to the stage, and let Cao Pi and Cao Zhi both improvise to praise it. If this platform is the activity center for his little wife run by this flowery father, then these two sons must not be embarrassed to death?
The fact is that Cao Pi wrote a beautiful and elegant "Stage Endowment", which has the sentence "Flying in the room is special, and the floor is like inheriting the heavens", which is amazing. And the quick-witted Cao Zhi also wrote the famous "Tongquetai Fu", which was gorgeous in words and magnificent in imagination, which made his cao father also praise.
So what was Cao Cao's intention in spending money to build such a high platform, was he just coming up to drink wine as a gift?
That's really not, the original intention of building Tongquetai has actually been explained very clearly in Cao Zhi's endowment, let's see it together:
"The talent of Xin Qun is gathered, and the auspicious dream of the flying bear is xie."
This means that on this high platform, we are pleased to see the talents of the world rushing to come, just like King Wen of Zhou dreamed of seeing a flying bear and getting such a great talent as Taigong Wang.
"Wing me royal, rather than the four sides."
The purpose of recruiting so many talents is to assist our old Cao family to calm down the four sides and unify the world.
The intention is very clear, very tall, Cao Cao built this platform, not for beautiful women, but for the sake of seeking talents.
In fact, Cao Cao had issued three "orders to seek meritocracy", and his men were full of talents and fierce generals, which was inseparable from his thirst for talents.
According to the Commentary on cao cao's collection, Cao Cao was fifty-six years old in the fifteenth year of Jian'an. Spring, the Order of Meritocracy. Winter, as a copper bird terrace in Yi. ”
Tongquetai was built in Yi County, the capital of Cao Cao when he was crowned King of Wei, in the west of present-day Linzhang County, Hebei Province.
According to the history books, the Tongque Terrace is ten meters high, and five floors are built on the platform, a total of twenty-seven meters off the ground. According to the Han system of one foot and seven inches of the market, it is also as high as sixty-three meters, almost as high as the current twenty floors.
On the top of the building on the stage, there are bronze finches and five feet high, and their wings are flying, and their appearance is realistic. Under the stage, the water of the Zhanghe River flows through the Tongquetai into the Xuanwu Pond through the secret passage, which can be used to train the water army, so it can be imagined that its scale is grand.
Let's use the words of the person or witness Cao Zhi:
"See the vast opening of the Taifu, and see the camp of the holy virtues." The saga of the high gate is built, and the floating double is too clear. Standing in the middle of the heavens, the Huaguan Xi, even fei ge hu xicheng. The long stream of linzhang water, the glory of the fruit of the garden. Look up to the harmony of the spring wind and listen to the mournful song of the birds. ”
Repairing the high platform to seek merit has existed in ancient China, the most famous of which is the King of Yan Zhao, the poem: "Yan Zhaobei built a golden platform, and the four parties haojie came by the wind." ”
King Yan Zhao, wanting to avenge Qi, planned to recruit talents and asked Guo Kui for advice. Guo Kui said, "Please start with Kui first." "King Zhao, on the other hand, honored him as a teacher in building a palace room, and built a platform in the north and south of the north and water to recruit talents, and put thousands of gold on the stage to invite the corporal of the world." As a result, King Zhao's name of seeking meritocracy did not go away, and Great Talents such as Le Yi, Zou Yan, Ju Xin, and Su Dai came one after another. The State of Yan grew stronger and stronger, and became one of the Seven Heroes of the Warring States.
The Tang poet Li He wrote in "Yanmen Taishou xing": "Repay the king's intention on the golden stage, and carry the jade dragon to die for the king." ”
So did this Qiuxiantai recruit talents for Cao Cao? Of course, Cao Cao redeemed cai Wenji from the Xiongnu with heavy gold, and it was on this Tongque platform that he received and feasted on her, where Cai Wenji sang the famous "Eighteen Beats of Hu Di". Some people speculate that the two have an ambiguous relationship, and personally think that even if Cao Cao is lustful, he has not yet reached the point where young and old eat everything, even the daughter of his former friend.
Tongquetai and the Tongque Garden on the east side were at that time a paradise for the creative activities of the People of Yixia. San Cao, Wang Yue, Liu Zhen, Chen Lin, Xu Gan, etc., often gathered here and wrote many immortal chapters.
Not only is Du Mu's poem likely to mislead the reader, but in the Romance of the Three Kingdoms, there is also such a cross-time description -
Kong Zhizhi provoked Zhou Yu and tampered with Cao Zhi's "Tongquetai Fu", and said, "Lian Er Bridge in the East and West, like a long sky of the scorpion." "Changed to "Lan Er Qiao in the southeast Xi, happy day and night." ”
After Zhou Yu listened to Kong Ming recite the tampered version of the "Tongque Tai Fu", he was really enraged, and he left the seat and pointed north and scolded: "The old thief has deceived me too much!" And immediately said that he and Kong Ming broke the Cao Thief.
This was entirely the imagination of Mr. Luo Guanzhong, because the Tongquetai was only built in the winter, and that year, thirty-six-year-old Zhou Yu had already died.
