The reason for the controversy over salmon is that some groups still believe that salmon is just Atlantic salmon. Our common freshwater fish such as bluefish, grass carp, silver carp and bighead carp are all carps; salmon and trout that we are discussing today are salmoniformes. Although there are many species of salmon in the whole family, in fact, there are not many species that are really of economic value, or common species in the Chinese (and international) market, so it is easy not to be confused.
