"National Treasure" in Butterfly

Golden-spotted beaked butterfly

rare! Fuzhou here for the first time to shoot the butterfly in the "national treasure"

National level protection of animals, prohibit the capture of trade!

Recently, a rare butterfly was found for the first time in the Yongtai Tengshan Provincial Nature Reserve - the golden-spotted beaked phoenix butterfly. Its whole body is covered with emerald green gold powder, each with an arc of golden green spots on the forewings, several pairs of golden yellow patches in the center of the hindwings, and a crescent-shaped golden yellow spot on the posterior edge, with a body length of about 30 mm.

The golden-spotted beaked phoenix butterfly is a unique treasure of China, the world's precious butterfly species, extremely precious and rare, known as the "national butterfly", but also the only butterfly in China's national key protection of wild animals, comparable to the "national treasure" giant panda, known as "the world's animal living fossils" and "butterfly queen", is the world's eight precious butterflies first. It mainly inhabits evergreen broad-leaved forest mountains at an altitude of about 1000 meters. Previously, no trace of it had been found in Yongtai County.

The vast forest resources of Yongtai County provide a good living environment for biodiversity, and with the improvement of monitoring technology in protected areas, more and more protected animals have been discovered. According to the current monitoring and survey data, more than 50 species of animals with scientific research value have been photographed, and 14 species of wild animals listed in the national first- and second-level key protection, of which 4 species of national first-level key protected animals, namely golden-spotted beaked phoenix butterfly, Chinese pangolin, yellow-bellied horned pheasant, and small civet cat; there are 10 species of national second-level key protected animals, including white partridge, white-browed mountain partridge, thrush, Mandarin duck, spotted partridge, Chinese iguana, yellow-throated sable, leopard cat, Tibetan chief monkey, and collared owl, providing guarantees for biological scientific research.

In the next step, Yongtai County will continue to increase the monitoring and investigation of wild animals, further study and grasp the living habits and activity rules of wild animals such as golden-spotted beaked butterflies, and do a good job in the protection of wild animals and their habitats.
