Bain and Jarren each hit a 3-pointer and the Grizzlies started 8-2. George scored consecutive points after Reggie hit a three-pointer, the Clippers played a wave of 15-2 rebound, then the Grizzlies hit a three-pointer, and Morant freed a free throw after the Grizzlies rebounded 25-24. But then Kennard scored eight straight points and Reggie hit a shot, and the Grizzlies scored no point in the final four minutes of the first quarter, giving the Clippers a 34-25 lead in the first quarter.

At the start of the second quarter, Hardten scored nine straight points to give the Clippers a 13-point lead. Jaren scored consecutive points and Melton scored five points in a row, narrowing the gap to four points. Morant and George then played against each other, and Morant and Melton each hit three-pointers at the end of the quarter, while Reggie scored four consecutive points to give the Clippers a 62-59 lead at halftime.

After the war, Adams was 2+1 and Melton threw to tie the score. Zubac hooked up to stop the bleeding, but Jaren, Morant, Melton and Bane all scored, and the Grizzlies played a 12-0 run to take a 10-point advantage. Reggie scored consecutive points and George, but Morant and Adams also scored consistently, with a point difference of 16 points at one point. George scored nine straight points at the end of the quarter to help close the gap to three points, but the Grizzlies scored four straight points in the final 10 seconds to take a 97-89 lead after the third quarter.

In the fourth quarter, the two sides alternated points, and Bane hit a three-pointer in the final five minutes when the Grizzlies still led by nine points. George hit a three-pointer and assisted Bledsoe's fast-break score, and then he made his own free throws to narrow the gap to three points. But then he missed a three-pointer and Morant threw a throw to stabilize the situation. George hit a key three-pointer, but Bain responded again. George's layup response was only 2 points left, but in the last 17 seconds Jaren hit a three-point shot, and George hit the iron after that, and the game lost suspense.

Morant had 28 points, eight assists and five turnovers, Melton had 22 points and seven rebounds, Bain 19 points, Adams had 17 points, nine rebounds and five assists, and Jaren Jackson had 21 points and seven rebounds. On the Clippers side, George had 41 points, 10 rebounds and 2 steals, Reggie Jackson had 17 points, Bledsoe had 12 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists on 3-of-11 shooting, Haltenstein had 11 points and Kennard had 10 points.
