On March 28th, Guangdong University of Foreign Studies (hereinafter referred to as "Guangwai") officially opened the Small Language Credit Extension Course at Guangzhou No. 16 Middle School.

According to the relevant person in charge, a total of 212 students enrolled in the small language courses of Guangzhou No. 16 Middle School this semester, including two classes of Japanese, German and French, were taught by graduate students from the College of Western Language and Culture and the School of Japanese Language and Culture. On the first day of the course, the small language initiation course was welcomed by the students.

It is understood that the enlightenment course aims to allow students to master the basic pronunciation and writing of small languages, learn the grammar of small languages, practice daily dialogue, and stimulate students' interest in learning small languages.

The content of the lectures is all small language pronunciation practice and grammar practice, among which the French course content also includes dialogue performance, French cultural understanding (current affairs, literature, songs, film and television) and other special content.

High school students who participate in the "Credit Extension Program" course and pass the assessment can apply for credit recognition of the relevant course after being admitted to the relevant major through the college entrance examination, and can be exempted from the corresponding course after the recognition. At present, Guangwai has reached relevant cooperation with the Affiliated Middle School of South China Normal University and the 16th Middle School of Guangzhou.

Founded in 1934, Guangzhou No. 16 Middle School is one of the first batch of provincial first-class schools in Guangdong Province, an excellent grade school in high school teaching level in Guangdong Province, and a characteristic school in Guangzhou High School, and is a source base for high-quality students from outside Guangzhou. In the past three years, the average number of graduates of Guangzhou No. 16 Middle School studying in Guangzhou is about 27.

It is understood that as early as November 3, 2017, Guangzhou No. 16 Middle School and Guangdong University of Foreign Studies signed the "Letter of Intent for Cooperation in the Credit Extension Plan" to jointly guide students' interests and strengths, and promote the cultivation of ability and personality.
