Love sow Little Easy
In actual production, there will be a situation, the sow static reaction time is very short, has not yet come and mating, the sow does not accept the boar climbing or pressing there is no obvious static standing situation, at this time, may panic, there is no static reaction, my pig can still breed? Experienced pig farmers will tell you that the static reaction is not the only criterion for judging whether a sow is in heat or not.

Estrus patterns of sows
Gilts 150-170 days of estrus, sows 3-10 days after weaning, sow estrus cycle of 16-25 days, an average of 21 days, sow estrus lasting 3-5 days, estrus symptoms from the onset to the end of the time 60-72 hours, ovulation time after the manifestation of estrus symptoms 36-40 hours.
According to the estrus characteristics of sows, sow estrus can be divided into three stages: anterior, intermediate and posterior
1. Preliminary stage
Agitation was presented, with a marked decrease in feed intake, frequent urination, and attempts to crawl across other pigs
The vulva begins to be red and swollen, and the vaginal mucosa is pink in color and contains clearer mucus.
2. Medium-term
Sluggish eyes, ears erect (most pronounced in York pigs), receiving boar crawling across, vulvar swelling reaches its peak, the vaginal mucosa is dark red, the vulva excretes thicker mucus, can be pulled into silk, and the mucous membrane of the vulva has more folds.
With the hand pressed on the back of the sow and the sow standing still (static reflex), the breeding fertility rate is the highest.
3. Later stage
The vulva begins to contract, the color fades, the appetite is normal, the spirit is stable, the static reaction disappears, the refusal to mate.
Sow pussy
Static reaction, sluggish eyes, vertical ears, vulva redness and swelling began to subside, there are slight folds in the break, and the mucus is slightly viscous, and when the hand is pulled into silk, it is the best time for us to breed. There is a folk proverb that describes the timing of sow estrus mating more vividly:
The vulva is wet with grass, and the sperm is just right
In a daze, instilled and fertilized
Stand still, just breed
The mucus thickens, and it is the heat
Static reaction is the simplest and most secure way for us to judge whether the sow is in heat, and it is also convenient for us to carry out breeding operations, but the sow estrus sometimes does not present all the performances together, so the static reaction is not obvious, the sow does not accept to climb across, we can combine our own experience, while observing the degree of vulva swelling, color, mucus viscosity to comprehensively judge whether it can be strongly matched, to avoid missing the timing of mating. When mating, we recommend breeding every 12 hours after the first mating, mating 3 times to ensure the successful fertilization of the sow.
