Today (July 9), the "Baolan High-Speed Railway" (Baoji-Lanzhou High-Speed Railway) will be officially opened for operation.
After the Baolan high-speed railway is put into operation, it will connect the Lanxin, Xibao, Zhengxi and Zhengxu high-speed railways that have been opened together, so that the northwest region will be fully connected to the national high-speed railway network, forming another east-west railway artery.
The Baolan high-speed railway, which started construction at the end of 2012, runs from Baoji City in Shaanxi Province in the east, enters Tianshui City in Gansu Province along the Weihe River Gorge in the south, and passes northwest through Qin'an County, Tongwei County, Dingxi City, Yuzhong County to Lanzhou West Railway Station. After its opening and operation, the running time of Lanzhou to Baoji will be shortened from 7 hours to less than 3 hours.
