Ge Si as Xiao Yuanshan
q: Can you briefly introduce Xiao Yuanshan in "Under the Skin Bag"?
Ge Si: Xiao Yuanshan is the adoptive father of his sister Xiao Hui in the play, and is a daughter slave.
Q: This is not the first time you have played the role of father, you have played a father in works such as "I Am Waiting for You in the Future" and "I Am Waiting for You in Beijing", what difference do you think is the image in "Under the Skin" this time compared with before?
Ge Si: Although he has played many fathers, but the experience of each role is different, Chen Shoucai in "I Am Waiting for You in the Future" can be seen from his name as a father who strives to earn money to support his family and is a traditional patriarchal father, who says one thing at home; and Tan Qiming in "I am waiting for you in Beijing" is a retired father who lives more comfortably. In contrast, Xiao Yuanshan in "Under the Skin Bag" is a more kind type, getting along well with his adopted daughter, even though he may not have seen a lot of the world, but the daughter in his heart is the best.
q: In the play, there are many rival scenes with "daughter" Zheng Hehuizi, she plays her sister, sister and sister pretending to be a sister in the play, and there are three different states, will she feel differently when she plays with different states in the play?
Ge Si: It will be a little different. Her sister's growth environment is more simple, so she is more naïve, and her sister has to face many different situations because she grows up in the entertainment industry, so she is very strong and has a bigger aura. The switching between the sister and the sister when playing against the opponent is different from many eyes, speaking styles and movements, and the actor can feel the different states.
q: In recent years, your works "Hidden and Great", "Silent Truth", "Time and Space Call", etc., and the short film "The Last Transfer of Datang Mobei" have all won good reputation, so what will be the criteria for the selection of works?
Ge Si: First of all, the characters are more in line with my aura, and the audience may not feel abrupt in interpretation. But what matters is that the work itself is important.
Q: How do you think performing now will be different for you than it was before?
Ge Si: More and more like life, in fact, the works are derived from life, now the words are actually imagined as everyone in life, the role has its own tragedies and joys and their own experiences, so that the actor is not just acting, but the role's life experience to share with the audience, in the interpretation will be more real and relaxed.
q: In many of the shows, the audience thinks you have a sense of comedy, such as many of the colloquial lines in "Under the Skin Bag" are very interesting, is this something you added according to the character? After you receive the script, will you deliberately design your own characteristics for each character?
Ge Si: A lot of it is still a line, but it will be as colloquial as possible when playing with the director and the co-actors, so that the audience seems to think that this is real life.
As for whether it will design some other characteristics, it still needs to look at the background and requirements of each character.
q: Besides "Under the Skin", what other works are about to meet with you?
Ge Si: Next, there are works such as "Sweeping The Black Storm", "Emergency Rescue", "First Secretary of the Village", "Bathing in Fire", "Lie Detective" and other works to be broadcast. At present, I am filming "Folk Strange Talk" and "Human World", and I hope to meet you as soon as possible.
