Xiao Lou Lane, ancient name Ming Ke Li, more than 900 years of history
Also known as Dai Tomb Lane (because there is a Dai tomb)

Xiaolou Lane is located in the center of Wuxi, running east-west, with a total length of nearly 300 meters. The planned XiaolouXiang Historical and Cultural Block Project starts from Xinsheng Road in the west, to Xiaolou Lane Hengjie In the east, to the Wuxi Municipal Public Security Bureau in the south, and to Futian Lane in the north. Within the block, the cultural relics protection units and historical buildings are dense, mostly traditional residential buildings with ming and qing style narrow openings and deep depths, which is one of the oldest, largest and most well-known alleys in Wuxi City.

The repair of Xiaolou Lane is based on the principle of "protection first, rational utilization, inheritance and development" to organize multi-party expert demonstration, carefully adjust the planning plan, focus on highlighting the weaving and supplementation of the traditional architectural texture of Xiaolou Lane, and retain the original appearance of Xiao lou Lane residential buildings and traditional streets and alleys. After the repair, Xiao Lou Lane solved the problems of roof leakage, repaired the damaged wooden components and walls, restored the original doors and windows of small wood and oil decoration, and restored the original combined structure of the building complex. Up to now, all 24 groups of cultural security units in Xiaolou Lane have passed the acceptance of the provincial cultural security department, and the two-stage protection and repair project has also passed the acceptance review of the Municipal Bureau of Cultural Management, and the expert opinions can enter the use stage.

This is in stark contrast to the modern office buildings that surround it. On both sides of the main street, there are mostly traditional residential buildings with narrow openings and deep entrances, and when you look at the gate, you will enter the courtyard layer by layer. "National Security" units such as FushouTang, Tan's Ancestral Hall, and Youyuan Garden have been repaired to preserve and reproduce the original style. In the courtyard of WanbeiTang, there is a clearing enclosed by cobblestones, and the restoration parts of the Taihu Stone "Five Old Peaks" that were destroyed in the war are placed. The historical relic "Baizhangbei Lane" has been repaired and equipped with a roof, and the winding path is quiet. According to the person in charge of the on-site project, in addition to passing, this alley also plays a role in interval fire prevention, reflecting the architectural wisdom of the ancients.

Xiaolou Lane has been the spring of Wuxi culture since ancient times, and there have been famous families of poetry and book heirs for thousands of years, such as the Tan clan, the Qin clan, and the Sun clan; there are Qin Yujun, who followed the father of the nation and dedicated himself to the revolution; there are also Wang Yongji, Wang Xu, Wang Xuan, and others who studied mathematics and theory and studied mysteries.
