Quentin Tarantino is regarded as one of the classic directors in the history of violent aesthetic cinema, and his representative works include "Kill Bill", "Django Rescued", "Pulp Fiction" and so on.
Quentin's work is not a style that everyone can accept and love, and his films feature exaggerated and playful violent plots and controversial black humor. After watching Shameless Bastard the other day, I had a deep feeling that Quentin was really a madman.
The story structure of "Shameless Bastards" is not complicated, and the background is set in the history of the Nazis during World War II, and there are two story lines in the plot: one story line is the revenge story of a Jewish girl whose family was persecuted by the Nazis, but survived; the other story line is a "Jewish Hunters" organization in the United States, which specifically aims to kill Nazi officers.
Such a simple story plot finally created more than 300 million US dollars at the box office, because of some of the most iconic shooting methods and details handling methods in "Shameless Bastards", which had up to 88% of the positive reviews on the film review website Rotten Tomatoes, Douban also had 8.6 points, and "Shameless Bastards" also became one of the classics in the history of movies.

Set in the Nazi history of World War II, you might imagine a historical film full of memories of suffering that shows the persecution of Jews, but Shameless Bastard is nothing like that, a film that presents Nazi issues in a highly violent and highly entertaining way.
Led by Aldo (Brad Pitt), the "Jewish Hunters" have no lofty goals, and each team member has only one task, which is to collect a hundred Nazi scalps (the film also really shows the team members cutting off the scalps of Nazi officers, in order to avoid excessive bloodshed or leave it to the readers to go to the movie themselves).
There is a scene in the film where a Nazi officer refuses to divulge military information and is beaten to death by a crew member of the organization nicknamed "Jewish Bear" (Eli Rose).

But from another perspective, Quentin's approach to Nazi issues, the famous political philosopher Hannah Arendt once proposed the concept of "evil mediocrity", after the end of the Nazi regime, Nazi officer Adolf Eichmann was sent to the Jewish court for trial, and in the public's one-sided attacks, insults, and hatred of Adolf Eichmann, Hannah Arendt argued:
"He never hated the Jews, never had the will to kill, and all the sins came from obedience to his superiors, and obedience should be hailed as a virtue. "Shameless Bastard" is actually a truthful and pure display of the "evil" of the public, we hate the violence of the Nazi regime on the one hand, but on the one hand, we also hope to treat the Nazi regime with the same violence, when we watch "Shameless Bastard" and feel happy, in fact, we are not far from evil.

Another much-discussed ending, in which many people feel that the film's arch-villain Hans (Christopher Waltz) was not killed in the end, and Aldo chose to engrave a "swastika" mark on Hans's head, Aldo said:
"Everyone knows you're a Nazi, but you can't wear it forever, and once you take off your Nazi uniform, no one knows you're a Nazi."
The audience might have expected the villain, Nazi officer Hans, to die a miserable death, only to end up with a swastika engraved on his head, which may sound counter-climactic, but I think it's a very good ending.
As Aldo said above, once he takes off his uniform, no one remembers that he is a Nazi, and Quentin emphasizes the importance of "memory". By carrying an indelible mark, it can remind this Nazi history all the time, which also shows Quentin's view of history, and achieve revenge through memory.
Reflecting on our current society, how many social events have receded after the heat has receded and no one remembers? Just as when a Nazi officer takes off his uniform, no one remembers his Nazi identity.
We are accustomed to forgetting, when history can not be remembered, when it is faced, we can never get out of history, there will always be a group of evil left by history that has not been ended, Quentin in such a playful, violent film, but also present the view of history he wants to say.
