When Hua Bo came knocking on the door

Just after the Spring Festival this year, the 10th China Flower Expo is still in preparation, and Chongming's friends have yin Yin instructed: "When the time comes, come and see the flowers!" One time is certainly not enough. ”

When Hua Bo came knocking on the door

For me, who loves flowers, the flower expo is really a carnival. The peonies that have been missed because of the epidemic in the past two years are really enjoyable to see in the "Hundred Flowers Pavilion" of the Chongming Flower Expo this time. White, pink, red, purple, inky purple, green, yellow and polychromatic peony, it is no exaggeration to describe it as "purple and red". Seeing a pot of heavy petals of "bean green", he hurriedly beckoned his companions to come and admire: "Green peony! Maybe I looked like a "know-it-all" person, a staff member came over and said: "Green peony is indeed relatively rare, but some green peony buds are green in color, and after blooming, they are close to white, and you have to look closely to see a trace of light green." Yellow peonies over there are even rarer. Not far away, there were a few light yellow "Yao Huang". It turned out that he was the flower farmer of Heze, the hometown of peonies. He told me that the flowering period of peonies at this time has long passed, and in order to let the visitors of the flower expo enjoy the peonies, these flowers in the venue are specially cultivated to control the temperature at a good time. Peonies are proud flowers, and legend has it that even Wu Zetian's majesty cannot make it change the time of flowering. Blessed are those who see the flower expo now.

The Fuxing Hall is divided into four separate exhibition halls, which are divided by region. The Century Hall is divided into two halls, the East Hall displays real flowers and trees, the theme is "nurturing, growing, changing and reborn" of plants, and the East Hall uses multimedia technology to present "flowers of light and shadow". The size of the Revival Hall and the Century Hall made me worry a little about my foot strength at first, but as soon as I walked in, I was addicted to the sea of flowers, and my attention was not on myself at all. I have never seen so many orchids at once, Jianlan, Huilan, Dendrobium orchid, Phalaenopsis orchid... Various colors and flower types of orchids and caterlands. Octopus orchids and comet orchids, which have never been seen before, have to lean down and look closely at the labels to know their species. Rhododendrons are also like rhododendron fairies coming to the rally, each with its own style and attitude. What surprised me the most were the alpine cuckoos, which I usually had to endure at high altitudes and wading through mountains and waters to see the true appearance of the snow-capped cuckoo, the taibai cuckoo and the pure yellow cuckoo, which were now within easy reach, and I almost suspected that I was in a dream. The waterfalls and waterholes of the Tropical Jungle Pavilion are small but decent, and the bright red Pauline lanterns on the top of the head and the plumeria, plantains, red palms, palms and vines within reach create an exotic space, which can be said to be a portrayal of "small and beautiful".

I actually love the garden in the domestic exhibition area more than the indoor venue. They are more spatially designed, and the flowers and plants are no longer display items but part of the garden. The white, pink, blue-purple hydrangeas in Shanghai Garden bloom splendidly. Clematis climbs all the way and blooms with stretched flowers. Iris flowers are also very good, as long as the water's edge is sparsely planted with a few irises, it will immediately have a water atmosphere. The Chinese-style building near the water of the Jiangsu Pavilion hangs a plaque of "Huajian Hall", which reminds me of the classical gardens in Jiangnan. The peonies in Shandong and Henan Gardens, and the Haozhou peony in Anhui Gardens are important local geographical indications. There are several rows of bitter water roses on the slopes of the Gansu Garden, and people who have never been able to distinguish between roses and moon seasons will not pay much attention to its flat flowers, but the sweet fragrance of roses emitted from the flowers still makes people slow down.

There is a small yard in the Flower Association's Flower New Excellent Variety Garden called "When the Garden Comes Knocking", which my friends and I both like. The bamboo weaving at the entrance is an abstract landscape painting. The yard is full of hydrangeas, grass, lotus, jade hairpin, lilies and moon seasons, and the cold and warm flowers are intertwined, gorgeous but not messy. Follow the path into the interior and you will find it a small jungle. The cast-iron bed in the bedroom was covered with arrowroot, white palms and moss; the dining table was verdant, cups and dishes were all supporting roles, and the shelves in the living room were covered with vines, and pots of cacti were piled on the fridge and oven. Flowers and plants are no longer just decorations, but equal to the owner. Although this is an idealized model of life, plants are really refreshing, and with them, the light and air in the room will come alive.

When Hua Bo knocked on the door and opened the door to meet the beauty of the plant, the worries in his heart flew away without a trace. (Dai Rong, text/photo)
