Robbie Keane: I didn't want to spend my days at Liverpool, so I chose to leave

Premier League legend Robbie Keane said in an interview with Sky Sports that he could not become an absolute main force at Liverpool that year, so he chose to leave.

Keane said: "Benitez is a top coach and he proves it. I never said anything bad about him, I think he's the top coach. ”

"I just feel that he was the wrong coach for me to meet at the wrong time. When I was at Tottenham, we played offensive football and the game was smooth. ”

"When I joined Liverpool, I was told I would partner with Torres, Gerrard in midfield, behind us. But then Benitez asked Gerald to play in the No. 10 position. ”

"Gerrard's performance in the No. 10 position was incredible, with a lot of goals and assists. I certainly have nothing to complain about about. ”

"But I'm not the kind of person who likes to sit on the bench and mess around and take money, I just want to be able to play."

Robbie Keane joined Liverpool in 2008 and was sold back to Tottenham just six months later, making 28 appearances for the Reds and scoring seven goals.
