On July 11, it was learned from the Suzhou Inspection and Quarantine Bureau of Jiangsu Province that when the quarantine personnel of the bureau's park office carried out quarantine inspections on inbound containers from Thailand, they found more termites (about 80) on the middle floor of the box and the bottom of the wooden tray. The quarantine personnel immediately sampled and sent the termites for testing, and after identification by the Suzhou Bureau Alien Pest Prevention and Control Laboratory and the review of the Jiangsu Bureau's Phytosanitary Laboratory, the termites were quarantine pests in India and Burma Milk Termites (Coptotermes gestroi (Wasmann)). After the discovery of the epidemic, quarantine personnel have carried out pest elimination treatment as required to prevent the introduction of foreign harmful organisms and ensure the biosecurity of the port and the country.
Indo-Burma lactophytes are pests of the isoptera isoptera, Rhinonotermi tidae, the subfami Copto termitinae of the subfamily Lacto termite, and the milk termite genus Coptotermes, mainly distributed in India, Malaysia, Singapore, Myanmar, Thailand and Indonesia. It is the most serious damage to house buildings, bridges and surrounding green trees, a soil and wood amphibious termite. Once the insect is introduced to Jiangsu, if the external environmental conditions are suitable, and there is no restriction of natural enemies in its place of origin, it is likely to rapidly infect and multiply in our province, posing a great threat to agricultural and forestry production.
