Live Bar November 19, 2019 Today is the 49th birthday of NBA legend and current Clippers assistant coach Sam Kassel (nicknamed "Alien"), and Clippers officials also tweeted a happy birthday to him.

Sam Kassel (born 18 November 1969) is a point guard. In the 1993 NBA Draft, Cassel was selected by the Rockets in the 24th place in the first round.

He has played for the Houston Rockets, Phoenix Suns, Dallas Mavericks, New Jersey Nets, Milwaukee Bucks, Minnesota Timberwolves, Los Angeles Clippers and Boston Celtics in his career, winning the NBA championship three times (2 times for the Houston Rockets and 1 for the Boston Celtics).

In May 2009, Kassel officially announced his retirement. He joined the Clippers as an assistant coach in September 2014.

In his career, Kassel played a total of 993 regular season games, averaging 15.7 points, 3.2 boards, 6 assists and 1.1 breaks in the 30 minutes per game.

At the end of his career, Kassel joined the Clippers for three seasons. In the 2005-06 season, he averaged 17.2 points, 3.7 boards and 6.3 assists per game for the Clippers.
