In the morning, there were more pedestrians, and the two of them went down the tree. When she came to the place where Ye Meng collected taxes, a woman said: "The tax collector got drunk last night, touched his eyes, and can't come to collect taxes today." Two merchants whispered about the strange things they had encountered last night, and when the crowd inquired in detail, they said, "Last night we stabbed a tiger in the eye with a crutch, and today the tax collector's eye was also injured." Is this man pretending to be a tiger robbing merchants? The crowd said: "Recently, two tigers have been raging, and the pigs, cattle, dogs, and horses in the vicinity are about to be eaten." So they gathered, armed with weapons and sticks, and went to the tax collector's house to verify.
Halfway to the road, a tiger came in front of him, and the tiger saw that there were many people, and ran to the mountain with a hasty roar. The crowd reached the tax collector's house and peeked through the cracks in the fence. I saw the tax collector sitting in the house without clothes, his eyes bleeding. The crowd shouted loudly and beat the fence with sticks. The tax collector panicked and turned into a tiger and ran out. Because he couldn't see it, he fell into a big pit and was still roaring loudly and scratching. The crowd beat him to death with a large stone. The tiger I met halfway through was the tax collector's wife.
There is also a story recorded in the Taiping Guangji that the Songyang people went into the mountains to collect firewood, and in the evening they were chased by two tigers, and the woodcutter climbed to the tree. The tree was not too high, and two tigers jumped up to grab him, but could not reach him. A tiger suddenly spoke to the people: "If Zhu Du is in trouble, he will definitely be able to catch it." So one tiger stood under the tree, and the other left.
After a while, a slender tiger came, and the moon was bright, and the situation under the tree was clear. The skinny tiger jumped so high that he could grab the woodcutter's clothes. The woodcutter slashed with a wood knife and slashed one of the front paws of the skinny tiger, and the tiger roared away.
After dawn, the woodcutter returned to the village and told everyone about it. Everyone said, "There is a Zhu Du incident in the east of the county seat, let's go and see if the tiger has changed by him?" Zhang Sheng
