According to the British BBC report, recently, a 29-year-old patient in Taiwan found 4 sweat bees in his eyes when he sought medical treatment due to eye discomfort! It is understood that this case is the first time in the world to be found.
It is reported that the patient followed his family to visit the tomb of his ancestors, and when he was weeding, he vaguely felt that his left eye was stinging, thinking that it was mud residue, and did not pay much attention. However, when I returned home, I still felt discomfort in my eyes, and I was red and swollen. So I went to the hospital for treatment, and the doctor took out the foreign body under the microscope, and it turned out that it was 4 living "sweat bees"!

On examination, the patient's left eye is complicated by cellulitis, and the cornea is inflamed and damaged, and the vision plummets from 1.0 to 0.1. Hong Qiting, an ophthalmologist at the Affiliated Hospital of Fuying University of Science and Technology in Taiwan, found that the cause of Ms. He's red, swollen, painful, and burning eyes was 4 "sweat bees" with a length of about 3 to 4 mm hiding in the eyes. Although the Sweat Bee was dying when it was removed, it also left her with a large piece of decay and inflammation in the cornea of her eye, and a fever with high and low white blood cells.
Xiao Xufeng, a professor in the Department of Entomology at National Taiwan University, said that sweat bees belong to the "hymenoptera bee family", scientific name halictidae, like to suck human sweat, mostly live on the ground below 1000 meters above sea level, in dead branches, tomb sweeping and mountain climbing will be encountered.
Hong Qiting said that fortunately, the patient did not rub his eyes, if the sweat wasp is crushed inside the eyes, it will lead to corneal ulcers and infections, and serious fear of blindness. He advised the public to remember to wear goggles when visiting the grave, which can prevent mosquitoes and soot from burning paper money, do not rub when foreign bodies enter the eyes, rinse with clean water and seek medical treatment as soon as possible.
At present, the patient has been discharged from the hospital and his vision has been completely restored.
