At present, Zhangjiagang has carried out fumigation and pest removal treatment of these timbers, and strengthened follow-up quarantine supervision.
It is reported that these logs come from Cameroon, Suriname, Papua New Guinea, Zambia, Colombia and other countries. The seven species of alien pests intercepted for the first time at the national port are the neighbor-labeled Tianniu, the Seri red-breasted fibrous horned Tianniu for the Tianniu family, the Split-spotted Golden Turtle and the Marginal Spotted Golden Turtle are the Golden Turtle Family, the Fire Flower Horned Elephant, the Flower Horned Horned Horned Elephant Genus xenocerus barbicornis, and the three-cone Elephant genus Brentus anchorago are weevils, and there are no domestic distribution reports.
Because the celestial bull, golden turtle and elephant beetle are alien species and are important pests in agriculture and forestry, once they are spread into the country with the goods and colonized in China, they will bring greater biosecurity risks to China's agricultural and forestry industry and ecological environment, and it is necessary to increase vigilance and strict prevention. After the Zhangjiagang Customs on-site inspection and discovery of these pests, the first time to these batches of logs issued an inspection and quarantine treatment notice, fumigation and pest removal treatment, effectively preventing the introduction of foreign harmful organisms.
