Biography

Emperor Liu Of Han was the grandson of Emperor Liu Zhao of Han. Liu Ling's great-grandfather Liu Ling (伉伉), the eldest son of Emperor Zhang of Han, was stripped of the right to inherit the throne because of his lowly birth mother, and in the fourth year of the founding of the first year (79), he was made the Prince of Qiancheng (near present-day Gaoqing County, Shandong Province).

In the first month of the first year of Yongjia (145), the 3-year-old Han Chong Emperor died of illness. At that time, Empress Liang's younger brother Liang Ji (梁冀) made Liu Yi, the grandson of Emperor Zhang of Han, who was only eight years old, emperor and heir to Emperor Shun of Han.

After Liu Miao became emperor, Empress Liang remained in power as empress dowager, and the government was largely controlled by her brother Liang Ji. During Liang Ji's presidency of the imperial government, he was arbitrary and did everything, which aroused the resistance of some upright courtiers, and many bureaucrats of the scholar clan, led by the lieutenant Li Gu, wrote letters criticizing Liang Ji's behavior and trying to correct the shortcomings of the times, but they were all attacked and suppressed by Liang Ji.

Liang Ji was commanding and imposing in the imperial court, and although Liu Ji was only 8 years old, he also looked at him very unpleasantly. During a court meeting, he called Liang Ji "General Of This Journey" in front of his courtiers, expressing his righteous indignation and provoking Liang Ji's anger. After retiring from the dynasty, Liang Ji hated it in his heart, feeling that although Liu Miao was small, he was intelligent and precocious, and he was also the lord of a dynasty, and he was worried that Liu Miao would be difficult to control when he was older, so he decided to kill him. In the leap month of the first year of the first year (146), Liang Ji asked his cronies who were installed around Liu Miao to secretly put poison in the boiled cake that Liu Miao ate. After Liu Miao had eaten the poison cake, he suddenly felt a sullen stomachache and quickly summoned the lieutenant Li Gu into the palace. Li Gu asked Liu Miao the reason for the sullen stomachache, and Liu Mu was still able to speak at that time, saying: "Just ate the boiled cake." My stomach is stuffy, and I can survive if I have water to drink. At that time, Liang Ji was next to him and said, "I'm afraid I'll vomit, and I can't drink water." "Few Liu Miao were poisoned and died in luoyang palace. He was only 9 years old, and after his death, he was given the title of "Emperor Xiaoqian".

After the death of Emperor Han, the general Liang Ji (梁冀) held the festival to welcome Liu Zhi , the Marquis of Liwu , into the Nangong Palace, that is, the emperor's throne , as Emperor Huan of Han. In the autumn and July of the first year of the first year (146), he buried Emperor Xiaoqing in Jingling.

Historical evaluation

Emperor Huan of Han Liu Zhi: "Emperor Xiaoxuan was clever and early Mao, and He was jealous and acted privately to kill poison." ”

Fan Ye: "Filial piety is just established, and the fashionable Yunji is set." Bandits and bandits will eventually become addicted. Bao'a passed on the soil, and the family lineage and. Chong Yao did not know, and the quality was clever. The tomb is folded in luck, and the heavens are three endings. ”

The Kangxi Emperor loved Xinjue Luo Xuanye: "Emperor Chong Ling of the Han Dynasty, able to recognize liang ji's adultery, is inherently intelligent." The first sight is that 'this general is also.' And so he was poisoned. Smart and not good at obscurity, enough to be harmful. ”
