Guifeng Scenic Area is located in the southwest of Yiyang County, Jiangxi Province, next to National Highway 320, 311 Expressway and Zhejiang-Gansu Railway, 10 kilometers away from Yiyang County, with a total area of 136 square kilometers
Guifeng is named after the countless hieroglyphs in the scenic area that resemble turtles and the giant turtle that looks like a giant turtle from a distance. Known as "Thirty-six Peaks and Seventy-Two Scenes", it is said to be "strange, dangerous, smart and ingenious", and is known as "the rare turtle peak on the river" and "natural bonsai".
With its unique natural landscape of "no mountains and no turtles, no stones and no turtles" and profound cultural heritage, it has become a recommended attraction for many famous dramas such as Yousheng Xu Xiake and the TV series "Journey to the West".
Historically, Guifeng was the place where the three churches of Buddha, Taoism and Confucianism gathered, and the three religions of Buddha, Taoism and Confucianism blended together in Guifeng. Guifeng has a Buddhist cultural tourist area represented by Nanyan Temple, there is a famous Zaruixiang Temple, and more than 40 Buddhist sculptures in the Tang and Song Dynasties, which is one of the birthplaces of Zen Buddhism
Guifeng developed in the late Cretaceous period, which is 135 million years old, and is a typical representative of the landform of rain-eroded elderly Danxia peak forest. The landform form is characterized by peak forests, steep cliffs, square mountains, stone walls, stone pillars and stone peaks
After visiting Guifeng, the Geographer Xu Xiake of the Ming Dynasty issued an exclamation that "the wonder of the peaks of the Guifeng Peak, the wild geese do not have it". Featuring the development of the Danxia Cave Group, there are groups of strange caves with a total of 28 caves of various sizes.
Triassic Turtle Peak, 77 meters above sea level. The summit has three stones, one stone stacked on top of the other, shaped like a turtle, with a head and feet, and three feet crouching. Three turtles look up at the sky. In the thirty-third year of the Ming Dynasty (1605), the jiangxi envoy Chen Dacang inscribed the word "Guifeng" on the stone wall of Toad Peak, each word is 2.5 city feet long and 1.5 city feet wide. Chen Kangbo once wrote a poem praising Guifeng.
Wanglang Peak is located on the east side of Gui Peak. Legend has it that there was a young couple, soon after they got married, their husbands were conscripted into the army to fight, and their wives were pregnant with Liujia, leaning on the mountain wall to look at each other, hoping that Lang would return early, but her husband had not returned, and she was also a fossil statue.
Guanyin Peak is located 200 meters southeast of Guifeng Peak. The peak is shaped like the South China Sea Guanyin sitting on a lotus platform, with a dignified appearance and a kind gaze. The sun protects the roof, revealing a piece of Buddha's light; White clouds around the body, like light yarn, fluttering; The drizzle was the nectar she sprinkled with willow branches. At the foot of the foot there is a small mountain, resembling a boy kneeling on both knees, and the two peaks form a wonderful view of the boy facing Guanyin.
Guifeng's Danxia landform landscape is rich and complete, such as Laojun Peak, Fairy Rock, Fairy Water Rock, Elephant Trunk Mountain and Golden Gun Peak.
Old Man Peak is 51 meters above sea level. The peak is shaped like an old man sitting in an arch, with a well-proportioned head, a clear silhouette, a leisurely demeanor, and a relaxed look.
According to the county chronicle, there are more than a thousand kinds of animals in Guifeng, in addition to ordinary mammals, birds, insects, as well as golden leopards, Sumen antelope, sika deer, long-tailed pheasants, acacia birds and other valuable and rare animals.
Shuangjian Peak is close to the west side of Sandian Guifeng Peak, with an altitude of 74 meters. The stone peak rose from the ground, standing loudly, resembling a sword, silver light flickering, and the cold air was compelling. Legend has it that it was a pair of Excalibur swords lost here during the Great War between the Dragon King of the East Sea and Yang Erlang.
Lingzhi Peak is located on the west side of The Painting Wall Peak, and the peak is often hidden in the clouds, resembling a precious Ganoderma lucidum. Legend has it that in the year of Fang Zhimin's heroic sacrifice (1935), this peak suddenly collapsed.
The painting wall peak is above the Yuhua Cliff, and there is a vertical stone wall with an area of about 15,000 square meters, smooth and flat. On the walls there are wonders of Qionglou Yuyu, wooden boats sailing the sea, farmers who work hard, woodcutters who return from paychecks.
