Taiwan's Workers' Party issued a declaration calling on the people to oppose the "Lai Pig" and US hegemony and protect The Great Pond Algae Reef

Taipei, 5 Nov (China News Service) -- On 5 November, Taiwan's Workers' Party issued a declaration on "Loving the People, Protecting the Homeland, Opposing Pigs, Protecting Algae Reefs, and Opposing US Hegemony," calling on the people to jointly boycott pork imported from the United States, oppose US hegemonism, and protect Datan Algae Reef.

Taiwan authorities officially opened up imports of U.S. pork containing ractopamine in January this year. According to the Workers' Party, according to international studies and clinical studies, eating meat containing ractopamine residues may trigger various symptoms of poisoning. Both the European Union and the Chinese mainland have completely banned the import of meat containing ractopamine with the strictest standards, but the DPP has forcibly imported the US "Lysay pig" in disregard of scientific evidence and the opposition of the majority of public opinion. This is for the political self-interest of one party, at the expense of the health of the whole people.

The Workers' Party said that in order to act as a "pawn" for the United States to counter the Chinese mainland, the DPP not only bowed to the United States in importing "Lai pigs," but also continued to purchase U.S. liquefied natural gas in an attempt to reduce its trade surplus with the United States. In just three years, the DPP has spent nearly NT$900 billion to buy U.S. natural gas and related equipment, and its purchase cost is more than three times that of U.S. origin.

The Workers' Party pointed out that in order to smoothly use the newly purchased US natural gas for power generation as scheduled, the DPP insisted on building a "third receiving station for CNPC natural gas" along the coast of Taoyuan Guanyin Datan, but this is bound to seriously damage the Tai Tan Algae Reef. The Great Pond Algae Reef is an extremely precious natural asset of Taiwan, but the DPP is bent on going its own way, and its attempt to benefit US enterprises and bend its knees to expose the posture of US hegemony is clearly revealed.

The Workers' Party believes that the DPP is a "pawn" at the mercy of the US anti-China strategy. If Taiwan wants to build a proper food safety policy and energy policy, just like the security policy, the answer is not to bow to the KNEE of US hegemony, but to return to the national position and cross-strait policy of cross-strait one China and peaceful reunification.

The Workers' Party calls for: defending food safety and stopping the import of U.S. pork containing ractopamine; guarding the ecology of Tai Tan Algae Reef and opposing the construction of a third natural gas receiving station along the Coast of Datan; opposing the attempt to profit American enterprises and bowing to US hegemony; safeguarding Taiwan's dignity and refusing to serve as a strategic tool for US hegemony and anti-China.
