Luo Shugang, Minister of Culture and Tourism, issued a donation certificate to the donor, China Guardian International Auction Co., Ltd., and announced the opening of the exhibition. Guardian is an excellent representative of China's cultural relics auction enterprises, always upholding social responsibility and actively promoting the return of lost cultural relics. Recently, a British man is preparing to return to Nigeria the artifacts that his grandfather looted from Benin City in the late 19th century , two wooden ceremonial oars. Captain Herbert Walker, the grandfather of the returner Mark Walker, was involved in the occupation and looting of Benin City in present-day southern Nigeria in the late 19th century. The artifacts will be on display at the Pitt Rivers Museum in Oxford before returning. The official return date has not yet been determined.
