Predict the timetable of victory in the Liberation War (100-year voyage with "overseas Chinese" wonderful (41))

In June 1946, Chiang Kai-shek brazenly launched a full-scale civil war, brazenly believing that the United States aided and the army was strong. As to when victory in the War of Liberation was achieved, Mao Zedong expected in March 1948 that it would take about five years (counting from July 1946).

In the summer of 1948, Hu Yuzhi, who had been engaged in propaganda work in Nanyang for many years, secretly arrived in Dalian via Hong Kong, and after careful analysis and reflection on the domestic situation, he said to Li Yihao, the head of the Dalian cpc, "I don't think it will take Comrade Mao Zedong's five years to win a national victory." "In addition to the military situation, there is also a question of the heart of the people. The Kuomintang not only collapsed militarily, but also the economy, and thus the people's hearts and minds. At present, no matter what class of the Kuomintang is in the area, it hopes that the People's Liberation Army will win and that Chiang Kai-shek will collapse. Ordinary people can't wait. Li Yihao deeply agreed, believing that this view has a reference effect on the decision-making of the CPC Central Committee. The party committee of the Dalian Brigade Region, which received the report, studied and decided to organize a special traffic escort to transfer Hu Yuzhi to Xibaipo. On November 14, 1948, Mao Zedong said in his Xinhua News Agency editorial "Major Changes in China's Military Situation": "It now seems that it is only a year or so from now on that it is possible to fundamentally overthrow the Kuomintang reactionary government." ”

Later, Li Yihao recorded the incident in a reminiscence article in "The Foresight of Wisdom", proposing that "it is obvious that Mao Zedong absorbed Hu Yuzhi's opinions, and made a more accurate analysis according to the situation on both sides that he controlled, shortening the time of victory by one year." Li Yihao believes that the accurate judgment of the revolutionary process in 1948 was the greatest contribution of Hu Yuzhi's life.
