Gaoligong Mountain is known as "the world's species gene bank", "world natural museum", "refuge of life", "paradise for wild animals", "birthplace of mammals' ancestors", "cradle of East Asian flora" and so on. "A mountain is divided into four seasons, ten miles of different days" It is precisely because of the unique natural conditions that it has become a paradise for birds to breed and roost.
My name is Peng Qiangwu, and I was born in Jiangjiazhai, Qushi, Tengchong. Ancestors have lived under this big mountain for generations, and they have been with the mountain for generations, as the saying goes: "Rely on the mountain to eat the mountain, rely on the water to draft water", it is true, I grew up drinking the clear spring of Gaoligong Mountain. Since childhood, he has loved to shuttle between mountains and forests, fallen in love with the magic of nature, loves to listen to birds, and is keen on bird watching and bird protection. When he grew up, he was fortunate enough to become an ordinary ranger in Gaoligong Mountain, and secretly resolved to protect the "Mother Mountain" behind him with his own actions. Later, with the support and encouragement of the Tengchong Conservation Sub-bureau and the Qushi Conservation Station, under the leadership of Director Bi Zheng, we began to build a bird pond, learn bird knowledge, and learn how to protect birds and watch birds more scientifically.
Meat eaters, people also. The biggest natural enemy of birds is man, and human hunting has caused many birds to become endangered. Since the day I became a ranger, the cold and summer have been coming and going, and I have never stopped doing my best to protect the creatures in the mountains and leave the beauty to future generations. A few years ago, due to the immoral guidance of the market and inhuman eating habits, there were always a few people who would sneak into the mountains to catch birds, poisonous birds, fight birds and other illegal activities, the area of the mountain is too large, the road into the mountain is countless, the time is uncertain, there are a certain number of flukes, which brings great difficulties and challenges to management and protection. When I started building the bird pond, I asked these people to do small work, and the process of getting along persuaded and enlightened; after the bird pond was set up, I asked them to help the bird watching enthusiasts backpack and deliver food. They have a certain income and ear to witness, are familiar with the mountains, fall in love with birds, and join the part of bird protection. Turning a gang into a jade vessel and an enemy into a friend, the friend obtained is the most loyal, and at the same time, it has solved this problem more perfectly.
After several years of hard work, the environment has been improved to a certain extent. The birds here are relatively stable, and the star birds continue to appear, attracting bird lovers in the province, on the basis of not destroying the environment, we are keen to welcome every bird watcher to come and patronize the best quality to guests. The reason for this is that Director Bi Zheng, Yang Weichun, and I have a common purpose: to record the wonderful fragments of the elves and photograph the new bird species as objects of study and observation.
Jiangjiazhai Bird Pond is located in Qushi Town, Tengchong City, which belongs to the western slope of the southern end of Gaoligong Mountain, with an altitude of 1500 meters to about 3000 meters! Due to the huge drop in the mountain of Gaoligong Mountain, the vertical zone of vegetation is obvious, with a series of surveys by biologists at home and abroad, Gaoligong Mountain has recorded a total of nearly 400 kinds of birds, and Jiangjiazhai is a place of pursuit for bird lovers, and the current bird shooting enthusiasts have photographed nearly 180 kinds, of which pheasants, partridges, finches, and warblers are particularly diverse! Many species are rare species that bird photography enthusiasts flock to, such as: yellow-waisted honey, broad-billed bird warbler, gray-faced bird warbler, spotted bird, brown-bellied partridge, golden-pillowed black finch, red-browed pine finch, fire-crowned finch, golden-breasted finches, jade-headed harriers, fire-tailed green wagtails, spotted forest pigeons and a large number of star birds!
The work of a ranger is hard to climb and wade, but with the mountains and birds, I fell in love with it. For the sake of this beautiful mountain, for the inheritance of precious resources, for the sake of the green mountains and rivers and ecological Tengchong of The Great Beauty Tengchong. I have no complaints and no regrets!
