Shu opera flows through the stage
Chengdu, a city with a flowing cultural vein, has the reputation of "Shu opera crowning the world" more than a thousand years ago. Unearthed in the Han Dynasty, the "rap figurines" vividly reproduce the burlesque performers of the time, who are considered to be one of the origins of traditional opera. During the Three Kingdoms period, Liu Bei let the entertainer play the situation where the officials Xu Ci and Hu Qian argued and fought, as an entertainment performance when the officials gathered, in order to impress and educate the officials. The optimistic and tolerant Shudi people integrate their attitudes towards life into the opera, telling the past of the city and depicting the future.
On the evening of February 3, the "2019 Wuhou Ancestral Hall Chengdu Great Temple Fair" opened at the temple, and lively and good dramas are being staged, with classic opera, traditional opera, aesthetic dance, thrilling acrobatics, point flash mobs, parade performances... More than 200 wonderful performances presented the audience with the "Shu Opera" feast of the New Year, interpreting the aesthetics of Chengdu people's life.
At this temple fair, Chengdu Wuhou Ci Museum once again invited the original class of Chengdu Art School to participate in the 2019 CCTV Spring Festival Gala. After returning from the Spring Festival Gala stage, from the third day of the Chinese New Year, they will present carefully choreographed ShuGong music and dance, shadow dance and other dances to the audience on the stage of the Great Temple Fair, so that the audience can enjoy professional theater-level performances. The Spring Festival Gala program "Heroic Posture" will also be staged again on the Lantern Night.
Hundred plays inherited intangible cultural heritage
Originating from the Han Dynasty, folk hundred opera performances have always been the highlight of the Chengdu Grand Temple Fair, and the term "hundred plays" first appeared in the Han Dynasty, which is a general term for folk performing arts, especially acrobatics and juggling. On the stage of the temple fair, a number of acrobatic programs are integrated with more stage elements, making the acrobatics not only thrilling, but also pleasing to the eye.
At the same time, the classic intangible cultural heritage performance projects Qinglinkou Gaoqi Opera, Sichuan Money Board and Sichuan Bamboo Qin will also appear at the Grand Temple Fair, allowing the audience to experience the charm of intangible cultural heritage at close range.
Qinglinkou Gaogao opera, known as "Lifting Pavilion" in ancient times, is one of the most widely circulated opera dramas in Qinglinkou Ancient Town, Jiangyou. Originally evolved by ancestors carrying idols and worship totems to the streets, praying for disasters and blessings for peace, it has a history of more than 340 years. On February 18 and February 19, the Qinglinkou Gaoqi Opera Folk Customs Parade will appear at the 2019 Wuhou Ancestral Hall Chengdu Grand Temple Fair, and the actors have specially customized the character shapes of the Three Kingdoms, which will surely blow up a whirlwind of folk customs full of cultural characteristics at the temple fair.
Teacher Zhang Xu, a national first-class actor and a national non-hereditary heir of the Sichuan Money Board, and Luo Dachun, a national second-level actor and non-hereditary inheritor of Sichuan Bamboo Qin, will lead the team to present the audience with a performance of intangible cultural heritage full of Shu style and elegant charm.
