These three are known as the earliest and most core TV trilogy of the UC system.
"Mobile Suit V Gundam", Gundam's fourth TV animation, all 51 episodes, the latest TV animation of the UC era, the content has little to do with the previous works.
"Mobile Suit Gundam Down A", the eighth TV anime in the Gundam series, is a new era after the UC Era, and unlike other Gundam anime, the story is more special.
Gundam Reusta in G, a TV anime that aired in October 2014, is a 26-episode anime that follows the story of the next century after the end of the cosmic age.
The above is the TV animation of the UC Age, Gundam UC also has some ova animation and theatrical version (Gundam 0080, Gundam 0083, Gundam 08ms Squad, Gundam f91, Gundam Counterattack Xiaya), some interspersed in the middle of TV, some are new stories, not to be detailed here, interested comments can look at the introduction of the previous issue.
Next up is the non-UC series:
Mobile Suit Gundam, Gundam's fifth TV anime and the first TV anime of the non-UC era. It's a separate story.
"New Mobile Suit Gundam W", gundam's sixth tv animation, a total of 49 episodes, is also a separate story.
"Mobile New Age Gundam x", gundam seventh tv animation, all 39 episodes, is also a separate story.
Gundam Seed: Mobile Suit Gundam Seed is the 9th Gundam TV anime, and Mobile Suit Gundam Destiny is the second season of Seed, with 100 episodes.
Gundam 00: Mobile Suit Gundam 00, 50 episodes in two seasons. The story of the AD year is used directly.
Others like "SD Gundam Three Kingdoms Brave Battle Warriors", "Mobile Suit Gundam Age", "Gundam Creator", "Mobile Suit Gundam Sang", "Gundam Creator", etc. are more special, and may not be viewed as machine combat.

There are also some ova theatrical versions in the non-UC system, etc., which are not listed here.
A little viewing suggestion
In the Gundam series, the UC series is a Gundam work with rich details in the setting of a relatively grand story, and the threshold is relatively high. As the origin of Gundam, it is still recommended to take a look at it.
One of the reasons for the high threshold is that due to its age, the painting style as high as 0079 is not acceptable to everyone.
If you are more receptive to the style of painting and are interested in the Gundam series, you can look down from gundam 0079 to the three tv animations of the UC core, and after watching the tv core, interspersed with ova and theatrical version.
If the style of painting is relatively poor, but you are still particularly interested in Gundam, you can start from ova "Mobile Suit Gundam the origin", which is somewhat similar to the reset version of Gundam 0079, but with some adaptations. Or watching the theatrical version of up to 0079's three episodes is also a good choice.
If you have a poor acceptance of the painting style and are not very interested in Gundam, you can start from "Mobile Suit Gundam Seed". This Gundam is a beautiful and handsome model, and is more inclined to the easy-to-accept idol gundam animation.
Although it is more commercial, the plot borrows some bridges from the original generation, but it is more acceptable.
"Mobile Suit Gundam oo" is also an introductory work of this type, compared to the style of the seed idol drama, 00 is relatively realistic, and it is also a more acceptable genre.
It is also a good choice to get started with the relatively acceptable seed and 00 Gundam, and then contact the content of the UC system according to your interests.
Of course, you can also choose to watch independent stories such as "New Mobile Suit Gundam W" to deepen your contact.
After having a certain understanding of Gundam, ova and theatrical version of Gundam animation such as: "0083 Stardust Memories", "Counterattack Xiaya", "Mobile Suit Gundam uc", "War in the Pocket of 0080" and other works are relatively high-quality animations.
Of course, the most important thing is to choose the appropriate Gundam entry method according to your own type. Choosing a favorite way and a favorite work to deepen your contact with Gundam is a very good choice to enter the pit.
