Caesar, who has been locked up for years at a bear bile farm in Tianjin, China, like thousands of other bears, is kept in a small cage, never runs hard, and is only used to squeeze bile every day, because many people in China use bear bile as a traditional Chinese medicine.
The bears are dressed in metal iron and have a pipe for pumping bile under their abdomen, and then pump the bile into a metal box, but fortunately Animals Asia finds Caesar and saves her from hell.
"I still remember her jumping up and down violently in the rusty cage, and I thought she was going to crash the cage." Jill Robinson, founder of animal fund Asia, recalls The Pain of Caesars at the time.
Fortunately, Kaiser was one of the bears who had been lucky enough to escape the bile ranch, and when she was rescued in 2004, her abdomen was bald due to the long-term wearing of iron, and she never lived in nature.
But after all these years of recuperation at the Chengdu Shelter, Caesar has healed and looks like another bear, and she has now become a strong and happy bear, wearing a thick coat!
"Caesar's scars have disappeared, and although she has been on a bile farm, she is now in pretty good health, weighing about 598 pounds (about 271 kilograms) now, and she is now a strong and beautiful mother bear!"
Her favorite activity now is swimming and enjoying the sun!
After coming up from the pool, I threw the thick fur coat dry! The staff couldn't help but marvel at her powerful appearance~ "The way she looks now in the sun, it's really hard to think of what she used to look like."
The Animals Asia Foundation estimates that at least 10,000 bears are still trapped in iron cages in China, most of them black bears, but there are also brown bears like Kaiser, which are rare because they are no longer legal, but still exist.
During these years, Caesar struggled to swim, climb, and run on the grass, all to make up for the lost years on the farm. The people of the Foundation can feel the joy in their hearts just by watching her enjoy the environment like this.
