By the end of 2019, the county's forest land area was 2.623 million mu, grassland area was 940,000 mu, wetland area was 30,300 mu, nature reserve area was 867,700 mu, forest area was 2,441,400 mu, forest accumulation was 19.74 million cubic meters, and the forest coverage rate reached 70.89%. It has been awarded the honorary title of "National Greening Model County" and "Advanced Collective for Building Ecological Barriers in the Upper Reaches of the Yangtze River in Sichuan Province" by the National Greening Committee and the Sichuan Provincial People's Government.

The ban on grazing is fully implemented in agricultural and pastoral areas throughout the county. Give full play to the functions of the forestry and grassland department, strictly implement a series of grazing ban measures, adopt the working method of combining centralized rectification and long-term supervision, regular inspection and surprise action, and continuously increase the investigation and handling of the ban on grazing, ensure the smooth development of the ban on grazing, promote the natural restoration of grassland ecosystems, and complete the improvement of 6,000 mu of natural grassland in 2020, and the grassland coverage of the county will reach 86.90%.
Strengthen the management of permanent rivers such as the Dechang section of the Yalong River, the Anning River, the Tseda River, and the Laonian River, as well as the Pond Reservoir Wetland. Vigorously promote the monitoring work, ensure and promote the smooth development of wetland protection in the county, and the wetland area of the county has been expanded to 30,300 mu. The functions of wetlands in maintaining biodiversity, conserving water sources, regulating climate, and ensuring water use have been significantly enhanced. With the continuous improvement of the ecological environment of the wetland, the number of wild birds migrating through Dechang County in the wetland has increased year by year, especially the egret.
The protection of green is good, and the management of forest and grass resources is solid and effective
Strengthen the protection and management of forest and grassland resources. Complete the perennial management and protection tasks of 1,386,800 mu of state-owned forests in the county; fully implement the overall plan for the protection and utilization of forest land, complete the update of the "one map" database of forest land, focus on the law enforcement of satellite films, and complete the investigation and verification of the immediate supervision map issued by the superior on time and the submission of verification results data.
Strictly implement the responsibility system for the protection and development of forest resources targets, strictly use the approval procedures for forest land, strictly implement the national, provincial and state forest logging quotas, and strictly control all quota indicators within the logging quotas.
Comprehensively strengthen the management of nature reserves. Fully completed the construction of Puge Datang Wind Power in Luojishan Nature Reserve and rectified the problems of 4 small hydropower stations。 Strengthen the protection of wild animals and plants and ancient trees, the county identified 893 ancient trees, and carried out publicity and listing protection of the third-level ancient trees identified by the investigation. At the same time, 14 wild animal domestication sites in the county were sealed, controlled and isolated, completely banned from eating and trading, and government compensation was taken to withdraw from domestication and released in the wild.
Keep the green and fulfill your responsibilities, and protect the ecological family base of one party in two ways
Severely crack down on illegal acts of destroying the ecology of forests and grasslands in accordance with the law. In the past five years, a total of 261 forestry affairs cases have been handled, and 246 forestry administrative penalties have been imposed, 14 limited companies, and 1 professional cooperative, and a total of 1.3415 million yuan has been confiscated, effectively protecting the forest resources of the county.
Adhere to the principle of prevention and strictly prevent the occurrence of various forest and grass disasters. With the vigorous promotion of land greening in Dechang County in recent years, the pressure of forest and grassland fire prevention work has increased year by year. In view of the severe situation facing forest and grassland fire prevention, while strictly implementing the responsibility system of administrative heads, we will focus on strengthening the construction of fire prevention teams and the implementation of fire prevention projects. In 2020, 6 county Lisu professional fire fighting teams, 12 township (street) semi-professional fire fighting teams, and 68 village-level fire fighting teams with a total of 1580 people will be built, forming a county-level fire fighting team "1-hour fire fighting circle" and township (street) fire fighting team "half-hour fire fighting circle". The construction of 30 forest fire prevention video surveillance systems has realized remote video real-time monitoring of 60% of the county's key forest areas, and there has not been a major forest and grassland fire in Dechang County for many years.
In terms of forest and grass pest control, 10,000 mu of dechang pine caterpillar hazard control, 1,000 mu of eucalyptus tree branch gall wasp control, 115,000 mu of chestnut solid aphid control, 3,000 mu of Huashan pine bulb aphid have been completed, and the county's forest disease and pest incidence rate has been controlled below 3 ‰, the pollution-free prevention and control rate has reached more than 95%, the detection accuracy rate has reached more than 95%, and the quarantine rate of the place of origin has reached 100%.
