#Fu'an ##Fujian Da ren ##Makou ##Fishing ##宁德 #
On New Year's Day last year, I returned to my hometown of Fu'an, Fujian Province, and visited several ancient brown sugar factories.
One of the brothers in the entourage is a fishing fan, and when he sees the green water show of Fu'an Mountain, he has lost himself.

After walking around lian village, I couldn't help but pull out my fishing gear.
There is a bend under a towering tree, there is no nest, when the drift, only to see a flash of silver light, from the dew rushed out of a fish, and then hit a big horse mouth, full of strength, feel quite good. The Fu'an people pipe the shallow rapids of the stream called Lu. Unfortunately, I was in a hurry and couldn't have the best time.
Close to one or two, full of silver and white, fierce and abnormal, I feel that there are many good resources in my hometown, which is very rare.
After that, several longfin carp were hit, and friends thought it was a stallion mouth, and the color was gorgeous. I said it wasn't a horse's mouth, but it did look a lot.
In fact, in the water of Fu'an Creek, there are still many freshwater fish, among which the horse's mouth, longfin carp, and broadfin carp are close to each other, which is easy to confuse. Today I will give you a detailed distinction.
Makou, in Fu'an dialect, is called "Thorn Dogo". The largest, generally silver-gray, striped, but not conspicuous, with reddish-yellow fins and a W-shaped mouth, like a fruit knife. The biggest I've ever seen is half a pound, and it came from the big uncle's big river net. During the breeding season, the color of the male fish will change and become colorful, which is very beautiful. The horse's mouth is extremely gluttonous, and its mouth is large, and as long as it can move, it will rush over to eat. The various animals in the water are its delicacies. In actual combat, small red earthworms are used, and large flies are best fished.
Longfin carp, Fu'an dialect does not know what to call. The largest one or two, colorful, striped stripes, red and blue, very bright, small mouth, large eyes, fin fish tail ratio is much larger than the horse's mouth, more beautiful than the horse's mouth. Omnivorous small fish, eat everything. Often swimming with the horse mouth, the shallow stone rapids are large and extremely fast.
Broadfin carp, Fu'an dialect does not know what to call. The largest two or two, there are many star chasers near the chin, blocky markings, bright and gorgeous colors, especially like the longfin, the difference is that the 1st-4th branch of the fin is particularly elongated. Eating is also more similar to the first two, and they often swim together, and they also like the shallow sand and gravel areas of the rapids.
Share how I caught these fish when I was a kid.
Because the hometown river is full of pebbles, the small river is in the shallow water rapids area, with pebbles to block the river into a funnel shape, put a long funnel net at the funnel, pressed with stones, due to the rapid flow of water, the fish that enter the net will hoard at the end of the net and cannot swim up. 5-6 pounds of various miscellaneous fish in a summer night is not a problem. Horse's mouth, longfin carp, broadfin carp, dios, sand loach, yellow spicy ding, ox tail, gobies, brook grouper are more. Occasional surprises such as river eels.
Take it home and dispose of it clean.
Large strips of fish picked out, big horse mouth, broadfin carp, yellow spicy ding, brook grouper, grass shrimp, yellow grace what, stewed with pickles, absolutely in place. Grandpa and Dad drink the most.
Small strips of fish, gobies, ox tails, strips, loach or something, sprinkled with salt and mixed well, wrapped in starch and fried, that one is fragrant.
There are also loaches, dragonfly larvae, water cockroaches and other things that are given to the next door neighbor to feed the hemp duck, and the neighbor sometimes gives me a few duck eggs.
At that time, the resources were good, and as a child, I was also willing to go to the river to catch it. Although he is often scolded by his father, he likes to catch it.
Now that the resources are poor and the age is older, to be honest, I am not embarrassed to go to the river to do this!!
Friends, can you tell the difference between these fish, what are your vernacular names? Welcome to share.
