First of all, we must clarify what a "cult organization" is.
According to article 1 of the Interpretation of the Supreme People's Court and the Supreme People's Procuratorate on Several Issues Concerning the Application of Law in Criminal Cases Involving Organizing and Using Cult Organizations to Undermine the Enforcement of the Law, illegal organizations that fraudulently use religion, qigong, or other names to establish, deify or advocate ringleaders, and use means such as manufacturing or disseminating superstitions and heresies to deceive or deceive others, develop and control members, and endanger society shall be identified as "cult organizations" provided for in article 300 of the Criminal Law.
It can be seen that when an illegal organization is identified as a "cult organization," the organization should have the following five basic characteristics at the same time:

Established under the guise of qigong, religion and others

The self-proclaimed "master" plays tricks
The self-deification of cult leaders is a universal feature of cult organizations, such as "Falungong" leader Li Hongzhi who self-proclaimed himself "Master Buddha of the Universe," Ji Sanbao, founder of the "Disciples' Association," who calls himself "the Christ of God," and Wu Zeheng, the leader of the "Huazang Sect," who also calls himself "Emperor Jue." So what is the real Wenjin Road like? Wen Jinlu, formerly known as Wen Jinliu, pseudonym Jin Guangdao, male, Han ethnicity, born on June 27, 1945, Chinese, farmer, originally from Xiangcheng County, Xuchang City, Henan Province. After graduating from Wenjin road junior high school in 1961, he first worked as a farmer at home, then worked as a cook, carpenter, mason, and did business until 1992, when he began to contact Qigong, and then created the "Sun Moon Qigong" exercise in 1994. From Wen Jinlu's life history, it can be seen that he does not have any peculiarities.
Wen Jinlu once preached that "consciousness can cure diseases, and practice can eliminate disasters", and said that he would help believers when they encounter disasters and suffer from diseases. Wen Jinlu successively treated the sister of Liu Mou'an, a believer in Zhumadian, Henan, the grandson of Li Mousheng, and the father of Li Mouqiang, a believer in Nanyang, Henan, but the results not only had no effect, but also caused 3 people to delay treatment. Among them, Liu Mou'an's sister died prematurely due to rectal cancer, missing the best treatment time. Li Mousheng's grandson and Li Mouqiang's father were rescued by the hospital in time to save his life. Afterwards, Wen Jinlu confronted the believers on the pretext that "they did not conform, did not cooperate, did not really understand in their hearts, and did not grasp the true meaning of it."
However, Wenjin Road is not "ordinary". Although he is not highly educated, he is very good at speculating on people's psychology and using some tricks to deify and disguise himself. The police handling the case once introduced a detail, once Wenjin Road took the believer's car out, found that there was insufficient gasoline in the middle of the road, the believers were afraid of nowhere to refuel and wanted to turn back, but Wenjin Road with experience and familiarity with the local environment, determined that there will be townships not far from the road, and there will be gas stations in the townships. But he did not tell the real reason, but instead made a false statement that he had already predicted it, so that the believers could continue to move forward with confidence, so when the believers drove to the gas station in front of them, they were convinced of Wen Jinlu's superpowers. Wen Jinlu's fallacious heresies are highly deceptive in content. He asked believers to "break the private and selfless dedication", and there are twelve words of "heart to be kind, heart to be good, get rid of evil, and heart is not greedy", these contents seem to persuade people to be good, but in fact, Wen Jinlu, through self-deification, has already secretly replaced the pursuit of "goodness" in the minds of believers with the worship and blind obedience to the "sect leader", and "selfless dedication" naturally becomes "selfless dedication" to the "sect leader", and many good people are blinded by Wen Jinlu's hypocritical slogans and become his followers, and many people are deceived by Wen Jinlu's wealth , or to be squeezed out of labor for a long time without compensation.
Wen Jinlu's fallacious heresies are highly concealed in form. Most of the fallacious heresies of "Sun Moon Qigong" exist in the form of lyrics and poems, and are passed on by word of mouth, destroyed regularly, leaving no writing, and after the case is solved, only some of them are found in the handwritten notes of believers. Wen Jinlu has successively fabricated more than 100 so-called "poems" such as "Maitreya Buddha," "Flying Kites," "Grinding Belly," and "Pretending to Be Confused," which are integrated into the "Sun moon qigong" fallacious and heretical content, and sung with popular song scores such as "Speak from the Heart," "Dare to Ask Where the Road Is," "Night in Jungang," and "Walking Around in a Dashing Manner," saying that these "poems" can purify the soul and cultivate their self-cultivation, requiring their followers to study them conscientiously.

"Manor-style" cults tightly control their adherents
Although the "Sun Moon Qigong" organization had been destroyed as early as April 2000, Wen Jinlu not only did not change his past mistakes, but secretly returned to his old business, and changed his tactics to actively restore his organization in a more covert way. Gradually formed a cult organization headed by Wen Jinlu, with 13 people, including Gao Lihong, Guo Junzhao, Wen Lijun, Cao Junxia, Cao Hengfei, and Chen Xian, as the core backbone, and based on the former "Sun Moon Qigong" personnel in various places.
Compared with "Falungong," "Almighty God," and "Disciple Society," "Sun Moon Qigong" is more flat and loose in terms of organizational system. Although more than ten organizational areas have been formed in Henan and many places outside the province, there are fewer upper and lower levels, and the division of labor within the backbone at the same level is not very clear. However, in the course of development, "Sun Moon Qigong" has revealed the characteristics of a "manor-style" cult, which is small in scale and strongly concealed, which is difficult to discover and investigate in time, and the control time of believers is long-lasting and stable, and many backbone believers are the "second generation of evil" in the family.
In order to build a stable cult stronghold, Wen Jinlu instructed his eldest son Wen Lijun and backbone believer Guo Junzhao to establish the "Defu Temple" in Zhanbei Township, Xiangcheng County, Xuchang City, Henan Province, in 2007, and the "Rare Sightseeing Agricultural Development Co., Ltd." (i.e., "Ecological Park") in Mengzhai Town, Wuyang County, Luohe City, Henan Province, in 2008 as the main activity base of the organization.
Wenjin Road regarded the "Ecological Park" as its "independent kingdom", led a small number of high-level believers to live in it for a long time, and implemented a closed management of the "Ecological Park". Dozens of male and female devotees were enslaved for a long time in the park, working for them free of charge, reaching a hundred at its peak. A considerable proportion of these people are the "second generation of evil" in the family, and most of their parents are believers in the early "Sun Moon Qigong". They have long been influenced by their parents and deceived and seduced by Wen Jinlu, and regard it as their "honor" to be able to enter the "ecological garden" for unpaid labor, and there are even cases where believers "pay bribes" and "go through the back door" to the backbone elements of the cult and ask to enter the "ecological garden" to serve Wenjin road. In addition, when Wen Jinlu was developing the members of the organization, he felt that the "old believers" were generally old and had a low level of education, so he deliberately attracted young people, highly educated and social elites to join, and held many "training classes" in the "Ecological Park" to train young believers from all over the world and encourage them to spread "Sun Moon Qigong". Wen Jinlu also arranged for young believers to apply for applications in local enterprises, asking them to have more contact with their bosses and take the opportunity to attract them to join their organizations.
The spread of development has caused serious social harm
Scam money to amass wealth. First, Wen Jinlu used his status as a "religious leader" to try to deify himself in front of the believers. He defrauded huge sums of money in the name of receiving disciples, passing on his teachings, divination, eliminating disasters, dispelling diseases, selling books, and peddling "sacred fruits" (Note: "sacred fruits" are ordinary fruits of the middle class of the "ecological garden", sold to believers at high prices, and an apple costs 10,000 yuan). Third, Wen Jinlu instructed the establishment of the "Defu Temple" and deliberately built it into a spiritual "holy place" of "Sun Moon Qigong", inducing many believers to come to "worship" and hand over "dedication funds", ranging from a few hundred yuan to tens of thousands of yuan. The fourth is to organize the responsible persons of various precincts to collect donations from believers in the name of urgently needed funds for the "overall situation" and raise money for Wenjin Road. Among them, Xu Mou, a believer in Mianyang, Sichuan, handed over 1.2 million yuan, He, a believer in Zhumadian, Henan, handed over 800,000 yuan, and Chen Xian, a backbone of Nanyang, organized local believers to hand over 3 million yuan. The court found that the "Sun Moon Qigong" organization headed by Wen Jinlu amassed a total of 8.19 million yuan.
But in fact, the amount involved in the case is far more than this, and the valuation of the two fixed assets of "Ecological Park" and "Defuguan" alone is more than 20 million yuan. In addition, most of the believers took the form of cash to hand over the "dedication money", and Wen Jinlu asked not to keep accounts, and regularly burned the account books, coupled with the fact that after the incident, many believers denied that they had paid money to Wen Jinlu because of concerns and cases, which eventually made it difficult to identify many of the funds involved.
Deceitful and adulterous female believers. Wen Jinlu likes femininity, debauchery, and hooliganism. Since 2012, Wen Jinlu has lied that there is a bottleneck in the study of "signals", that it requires "yin and yang double cultivation", and that with the help of "yin and yang power" to increase his strength, in order to decipher the "signal", and falsely claims that his "master behind him" tells him that he has a "relationship" and "must have this relationship" with a female believer, etc., and uses false reasoning and heresy to implement mental control to achieve the purpose of mentally coercing women. Endangering the family. Some believers have been brainwashed by Wen Jinlu's fallacious reasoning and heresy, giving up their family business for a long time to work unpaid in the "ecological garden", and even cultivating the "second generation of evil" and burying the future of their children. Some believers accepted Wen Jinlu's "designation" to marry, but divorced after marriage due to the lack of emotional foundation. Some believers lost their homes for the "Sun Moon Qigong", and even their wives and children were separated, and their families were destroyed. Among them, Shandong believer Li Mouzhi concealed that his relatives had sold stocks, real estate, etc., and all the more than 500,000 yuan he received was handed over to the "Sun Moon Qigong" organization as "dedication funds", and finally he was penniless, picking up garbage along the street for food, and after waking up, he hanged himself because he felt ashamed of his family.
Create social panic. From mid-May to early June 2014, Wen Jinlu instructed high-level backbones to inform the heads of various precincts that "disaster" was coming, saying that "this time is the same as the situation at the end of the world in 2012", and asked believers to immediately purchase reserve daily necessities and listen to Wenjinlu's arrangements. The organization notified more than 100 people in 8 provinces and cities, including Beijing, Shandong, Shanxi, Hebei, Henan, Anhui, Sichuan, and Zhejiang, causing serious panic among some believers and their families and disrupting normal social order. Later, because the murder case of "Almighty God" in Zhaoyuan, Shandong Province, occurred at that time, which led to the heating up of social concern about the cult issue, Wen Jinlu was worried that the situation was unfavorable, and temporarily ordered him to stop the activities, and finally failed. In January 2015, Wen Jinlu again spread rumors to believers that a large-scale bird flu outbreak in China would break out, asking believers to step up their study of the Exercises and stock up on daily necessities to prevent and respond.
