In the ancient Chinese mythology, the Yin Cao Di Mansion has always been known for its fairness and justice, of course, it must also be fair and just, because there are countless ghosts entering the Yin Cao Di Mansion every day; and the Yin Cao Di Mansion is to judge the life of these ghosts, good and good to repay evil and evil, some reincarnated to rich and noble families, some reincarnated as livestock, and if they are good for several consecutive lifetimes, they have a chance to become gods, and those who do evil have to go down to eighteen levels of hell to be punished.

However, there is an incident recorded in the "Journey to the West" that makes people have a little doubt about the fairness and justice of the prefectural government, and this incident is that Tang Taizong returned yang. In fact, the reason for this incident is also very simple, it is just a bet between the Jinghe Dragon King and Yuan Tiangang's uncle Yuan Shoucheng, and as a result, the competitive Jinghe Dragon King privately changed the Heavenly Court's Holy Will, which resulted in a catastrophe, and the Heavenly Court let Wei Zheng, the Tang Dynasty prime minister reincarnated by Wuqu Xing, go to behead the Jinghe Dragon King to correct the Heavenly Rules.
The Dragon King of Jinghe knew that he had committed a catastrophe in his confrontation with Yuan Shoucheng, and quickly asked Yuan Shoucheng for a way to rescue him, Yuan Shoucheng asked him to go to Tang Taizong, because although Wei Zheng was a martial artist, but at this time he was a mortal person, under the jurisdiction of Tang Taizong, the emperor of the human realm; and Tang Taizong thought that this matter was very simple, so he agreed, and as a result, he did not expect that Wei Zheng did not doze off in the process of playing chess with Tang Taizong, so he beheaded the Dragon King of Jinghe, and in the process of Wei Zheng beheading the Dragon King of Jinghe, Tang Taizong also helped Wei Zheng.
The Dragon King of Jinghe was not convinced, so when he was tried in the prefecture, he complained to the King of Yan Luo and complained to Tang Taizong. It seems that there is a logical problem with this matter, Tang Taizong agreed to help, does not mean that it will necessarily succeed; and Tang Taizong's help to Wei Zheng is also an unintentional move, he just saw Wei Zheng sweating, cared about his courtiers, and used a fan to fan the wind a few times; the key reason for the beheading of the Dragon King of Jinghe was still self-inflicted, and had nothing to do with Tang Taizong.
However, the King of Yan Luo did not seem to be aware of the logical problem in it, and sent Yin To confront Tang Taizong's soul; in fact, there was another logical problem here, because although the King of Yan Luo was the head of the Difu, Tang Taizong was the emperor of the world, protected by the Qi Luck of the Heavenly Dao, and if it were not for the catastrophe that caused the Qi Luck to be damaged or died, the DiFu would not have any power to capture Tang Taizong's soul, and the Yin Sect would not be able to approach Tang Taizong at all.
Let's take this logical error as a plot need, but what makes people wonder is that before Tang Taizong died of illness, Wei Zheng wrote a letter to Tang Taizong, and asked Tang Taizong to hand it over to the judge Cui Jue after he arrived at the prefectural palace, which could help Tang Taizong return to Yang; he did not expect that just after arriving at the prefectural palace, this Cui Jue actually took the initiative to come out to greet him, which made people even more incredible, the judge was also a high-level person in the prefectural government, no matter what the status of the ghost in the yang, after coming to the underworld, it was the same, and in the past, the emperor never enjoyed such treatment after his death.
Tang Taizong hurriedly handed the letter written by Wei Zheng to Cui Jue, and after Cui Jue read the letter, he took Tang Taizong to visit the prefecture, and after the misunderstanding was lifted, Tang Taizong was entertained by yan luo in the ten halls; but the right thing to do was to do, the king of Yan Luo asked the judge Cui Jue to check how many shouyuan Tang Taizong still had on the "book of life and death", Cui Jue opened the "book of life and death" and was shocked, why? Because the "Book of Life and Death" states that Tang Taizong's death date is thirteen years of Zhenguan, that is to say, Tang Taizong is indeed dying.
However, the judge Cui Jue secretly changed the "Book of Life and Death", with a big stroke of the pen, added two strokes to the word "one" and changed it to "Zhenguan Thirty-three Years"; in fact, there are loopholes here, because the ancient "one" should be written "one", and "three" should also be written "three", and the ancient "Zhenguan Thirteen Years" should be written "Zhenguan One Three Years", and the Arabic numerals did not come over at that time; of course, we do not study the loopholes here, anyway, the book is written like this.
As soon as The King of Yan Luo looked at the "Book of Life and Death", since Tang Taizong still had twenty years of life expectancy, he hurried to return the Yang to Tang Taizong, otherwise the time was late, and Tang Taizong would not be able to return the Yang; here is not to discuss whether there are any loopholes in it, just talk about the issue of judge Cui Jue changing The Shouyuan for Tang Taizong, will this judge Cui Jue modify the Shouyuan for Tang Taizong in the end? Does he have the right to give Tang Taizong the right to modify Shouyuan? Although Wei Zheng said a lot of touching words in his letter to Cui Jue, it was reminiscent of the past and grateful.
However, since Cui Jue could become a judge, in addition to being admired by the people when he was alive, he must also have a very good ability to judge cases, and he was selfless with an iron face and would never bend the law; in the world, and so, how could he be favored by Wei Zhengqu as a judge in the underworld after his death? If that's the case, it's not an "iron-faced judge." Moreover, even if Cui Jue really did, he did not have the right to do so.
Although he has a judge's pen, the judge's pen is not used to modify the "book of life and death", the information on the "book of life and death" is naturally generated, which is the embodiment of the rules of the Heavenly Dao, I am afraid that the Jade Emperor cannot modify the contents of the "book of life and death"; that is to say, Sun Wukong's random changes and even tearing up the "book of life and death" are fake, and the monkeys are damned or dead. So what happened to Tang Taizong's Shouyuan? There were two speculations, first, this was a round to make Tang Taizong grateful; second, this was a round made by Tiandao.
In short, no matter what the reason, it may be that Tang Taizong's death date should have been "Zhenguan Thirty-three Years"; from Yuan Shoucheng setting up a stall to entering the Jinghe Dragon King, to Wei Zheng chopping the Jinghe Dragon King and even Tang Taizong's Youdi Mansion, this is a bureau, interlocked, and the ultimate purpose is to make Tang Taizong believe in reincarnation and worship ghosts and gods; because they cannot forcibly change a human emperor, they can only do this, let Tang Taizong take the initiative to do it, in order to let the "Tang Monk take the scriptures" smoothly opened, and even the later "West Buddha".
So was Wei Zheng's letter useful in the end? It should be a bit useful, the first is to make Tang Taizong grateful and believe, the second is to tell the difu that what he should do on his side has been done, and then it will look at the performance on your side; the content inside has no meaning, the important thing is that this letter, as long as this letter reaches Cui Jue's hands, that is to say, the significance of this letter is far greater than the meaning of the content in the letter; but pity Tang Taizong, the emperor of the tangtang world, but he was played by the heavenly court, his own courtiers, and the difu as a monkey.
