Tong Wei (September 1929 – July 12, 2017), Manchu, formerly known as Tong Yupeng, pen name Dongwei, Dongren, Holly, etc., was a native of Changtu County, Liaoning Province.

Since July 1949, he has been working in the Federation of Chinese Literary and Art Circles and the Ministry of Culture for a long time, and has served as the deputy director of the office of the China Federation of Literary and Art Circles and the director of the Organization And Federation Department. In 1981, he was responsible for the founding of the Chinese Calligraphers Association, served as the secretary general of the First Calligraphers Congress, successively served as the leader of the party leadership group, the secretary general, the deputy secretary of the party group and the vice chairman of the China Book Association, and is now an advisor to the China Book Association [1] and the honorary president of the Branch of the Central State Organs.

At 14:35 on July 12, 2017, Mr. Tong Wei, an outstanding member of the Communist Party of China, a retired cadre of the China Federation of Literary and Art Circles, and an adviser to the China Book Association, died in Beijing at the age of 88 due to ineffective medical treatment.
