The big-headed turtle belongs to the suborder Flex-necked turtle, flat-breasted turtle family, flat-breasted turtle genus, and flat-breasted turtle species. Therefore, its real scientific name is the flat-breasted turtle. The length of the dorsal carapace of an adult large-headed turtle is generally about fifteen centimeters, and the larger individuals can reach eighteen centimeters.
At first glance, the bighead turtle not only has a huge head, but also its upper and lower jaws are obviously hooked, like the beak of a bird. Some places also call it an eagle turtle or a hawk-billed turtle.
The original area of the big-headed turtle is mainly in the south of China and Thailand, Vietnam, Myanmar and other regions. However, because it is a treasure all over its body and can also be medicated, it has been hunted by humans in large numbers, and it is now an endangered species and needs to be well protected.
