Cheng Shicai (1912-1990) A native of Xingchong Village, Xuanhuadian, Dawu. In 1930, he joined the Chinese Workers' and Peasants' Red Army and joined the Communist Youth League of China in the same year. In 1931, it was transferred from the Communist Youth League to the Communist Party of China.
A veritable combat post
During the Agrarian Revolutionary War, he served as the political instructor of the special service company of the 33rd Regiment of the 11th Division of the Red 4th Front, the secretary of the Party Committee, the regimental commander and political commissar of the Division's Political Department, the political commissar of the 90th Division of the Red 30th Army, the commander and political commissar of the 88th Division, and the deputy commander, acting commander and commander of the Red 30th Army. He participated in the 1st to 4th anti-"encirclement and suppression" struggles in the revolutionary base areas of Eyu and Anhui, the western expedition to the war, the anti-three-way siege and the anti-six-way siege in the Sichuan-Shaanxi revolutionary base area, and the Long March of the Red Fourth Front. In October 1936, he crossed the Yellow River in the west and participated in the arduous battle of the Western Route Army. During the Liberation War, he served as commander of the Liaoning Southern Military Region, deputy commander of the Liaodong Military Region, commander of the 3rd Column of the Northeast Military Region, commander of the South Manchuria Military Region, commander of the Andong Military Region, and commander of the Western Liaoning Military Region. He participated in the battles of Xinkailing, Siping, Anshan, Benxi, Liaoyang, Sibao Linjiang, and Liaoshen. After the founding of the People's Republic of China, he served as the 1st deputy commander of the Public Security Army, the deputy commander of the Shenyang Military Region and the commander of the Shenyang Garrison District, and the deputy commander of the armored corps of the Chinese People's Liberation Army.
Successive honors were awarded to lieutenant generals
In 1955, he was awarded the rank of lieutenant general and was awarded the Order of August 1st Class, the Order of Independence and Freedom of the First Class, and the Liberation Medal of the First Class. He was a member of the Standing Committee of the Fifth National People's Congress, a deputy to the Seventh and Eighth National Congresses of the Communist Party of China, and a member of the Central Advisory Committee at the Twelfth and Thirteenth National Congresses of the Communist Party of China. In July 1988, he was awarded the Medal of Merit of the Red Star first class. He is the author of "Tragic And Magnificent Course", "Beacon Years", "Journey of Ten Thousand Miles" and so on. He died in Beijing in November 1990 at the age of 78.
