On 1 July, UEFA officially announced the Champions League arrangements for the new season, with Real Madrid, Barcelona and Juventus all participating teams.
There have been previous reports that Real Savin, who participates in the European Premier League, may be expelled from the Champions League, but UEFA has confirmed that they will still play in the Champions League next season.
The new Champions League group stage draw will take place on 26 August, the group stage will begin on 14 September, the round of 16 knockout will begin on 15 February next year, and the final will be held on 28 May at the St. Petersburg Stadium in Russia (Zenit's home stadium).
