Coconut crab mainly lives on islands in the Indian and Pacific Oceans, is the world's largest terrestrial arthropod, it can grow up to 4.1 kg, legs can reach up to 1 meter, can be called the arthropod of the giant!

Coconut crabs are hermit crabs, and when juvenile coconut crabs hatch from the ocean, they will drift in the ocean for a period of time before sinking to the bottom of the sea to find the empty shells of gastropods. Because, like other hermit crabs, they need to protect themselves with the empty shells of gastropods in their infancy.
When it becomes an adult, the coconut crab's body will form a hard exoskeleton, and there is no need for those empty shells.
As an arthropod, the diet of the hermit crab is extremely extensive, and they take almost all organic matter as their own food, such as various fruits, nuts, wood marrow and other vegetarian foods, and also eat a variety of small animals. Therefore, sometimes coconut crabs will steal food when humans are neglectful, so they are called robber crabs by the locals.
Don't look at the coconut crab weighs only 4 kilograms, but the double tongs can output 3300 cattle pressure with one force, which is equivalent to 8 times the bite force of humans, which is similar to the bite force of lions.
Coconut crabs are still most loved by coconut fruits.
Coconut fruit is the seed of a coconut, and the core is covered with a thick layer of fibrous and a hard green peel shell. The kernel contains about a liter of sweet, almost transparent juice and white, fragrant pulp. These pulps are a favorite of coconut crabs!
Coconuts grow on trees 10 to 30 meters high, so you must climb the tree to be able to remove them.
Coconut crabs are physically strong, and can hold the coconut tree tightly with their claws, climb up to the top of the tree little by little, and then cut the coconut off with strong tongs.
Next the coconut crab climbs down from the tree, picks up the coconut and finds a secluded place to start preparing to eat.
Since coconut bread has fibers, coconut crabs must first tear off the fibers with pincers.
This process can last for several days, and once the fibers are pulled out, the coconut crab cuts vigorously with strong tongs until the coconut cracks. The coconut crab is then eaten with smaller pincers pulling out the pulp. Sometimes, it also breaks coconuts into small pieces for easy feeding!
Coconut crabs are no longer much available due to their delicious taste and are loved by humans, and have disappeared from many small islands around Australia. Hopefully, humans will be able to protect these animals and prevent them from extinction!
