The golden-headed closed-shelled turtle is a reptile of the genus Closed-shelled turtle in the family Turtle family, with about 150 in the wild. It is a critically endangered species, listed in the "National "Three Haves" List, and is strictly prohibited from being caught and traded.

It is only distributed in southern Anhui such as Nanling, Yixian, Guangde and Jingxian in Anhui. It inhabits ravines in hilly areas or in mountain ponds with clearer water quality.
It is also commonly found in bushes not far from water. Mainly animal food, eating a small number of plants, will hibernate.
The golden-headed closed-shell turtle has low fertility, and the female turtle is sexually mature over 10 years old, laying about 4 eggs per year, and the hatching rate is about 50%.
