Three generations of inheritance allow lily to "walk out" of the ravine

Entering October, it is the peak period of lanzhou lily mining and acquisition, and there is a villager in Majiashan Village, Jingou Township, Xigu District, Lanzhou City, Wang Yande, who checks the quality of lilies for a while and exchanges experience with growers on planting lilies.

It turned out that Wang Yande was the owner of a lily processing enterprise, and now that he had handed over the business to his son, he took the time to give his son a hand.

In Jingou Township, Xigu District, lilies are an important cash crop for villagers. Located in the highland mountains at an altitude of 1,800 to 2,200 meters, plenty of light, moderate precipitation, cool and humid climate, and organic-rich land give them excellent quality. Every lily on the land in the village must undergo up to 9 years of growth before it is harvested, the so-called "flower blooms for nine years as a reincarnation, and once unearthed like jade".

The 61-year-old Wang Yande has been growing lilies in the village since he can remember, and in the early 1980s, his father Wang Xuexin began to plant lilies on 1.5 acres of land, and Wang Yande followed his father to learn the cultivation techniques of lilies. "At that time, 1 kilogram of lilies could only be bought for 3 cents, but it was much better than growing grain." Wang Yande said.

With the government's advocacy and the gradual increase in the price of lilies, the area of lily cultivation has been expanding, the output has increased, and sales have become a problem.

In 1997, Wang Yande opened a lily processing plant and began to acquire and export lilies, although it was difficult, it still opened up sales channels in Beijing, allowing Jingou lilies to "walk out" of the ravine.

With the increase of age, in 2000, Wang Yande handed over the export to his son Wang Tong, after more than ten years of efforts, Wang Tong opened up The markets of Shenzhen, Hong Kong, Zhuhai, Macao, Zhongshan, Foshan, Maoming and other markets with Guangzhou as the center, and also opened up the markets of Beijing, Shanghai, Hangzhou, these first- and second-tier cities, and developed boxed lily tablets, lily crisps, lily enzymes, lily vinegar, lily powder, canned lilies, snacks and other main products.

"In the next 5 years, we will continue to actively respond to the national policy of developing three rural areas and poverty alleviation, build a thousand acres of Lanzhou Lily Whole Industry Chain Ecological Park, excavate lily culture, and establish Lanzhou Lily Expo." Wang Tong said.

Sticking to the mountain, the son inherits the father's business, and three generations have been like a day for decades, caring for the hope of the "Lily Family".
