"Crush on Peach Blossom Garden" tells a strange story: "Crush" and "Peach Blossom Garden", two unrelated crews, both signed a contract with the theater for rehearsals that night. The performance was imminent, and both sides had to rehearse in the theater at the same time, thus achieving a stage spectacle of ancient and modern contrasts, tragic and joyful.

"Peach Blossom Garden" is a costume comedy. Chunhua, the wife of the fisherman Lao Tao of Wuling, had an affair with the landlord Boss Yuan, and Lao Tao ran away from home to Taohuayuan; when he returned to Wuling, Chunhua had already married Boss Yuan and had children...
This touching story of the two extremes of joy and sorrow is inspired by the real experience of Chinese dramatist Lai Shengchuan. Once, Lai Shengchuan watched a friend rehearsal at the Taiwan Museum of Art. Rehearsals in the afternoon, premieres in the evening, but in the middle, there are two hours to open the graduation ceremony for the kindergarten. The rehearsal on the stage is not over, the children are coming, the piano, the lectern, are anxious to move to the stage. Originally, Lai Shengchuan had been thinking about how to express sorrow and joy on the stage as "two sides of the same body"; the chaos and disorder of the whole environment provided him with the object of description. As a result, the tragic "crush" and the comedy "Peach Blossom Garden" that are not complete appeared on one stage.
In 1984, Lai Shengchuan founded the "Performance Workshop". As a treasure of the town group, "Crush on Peach Blossom Garden" premiered in Taiwan in 1986 and has since produced several versions. In 2006, both sides of the Taiwan Strait simultaneously launched the 20th anniversary performance of "Crush on Peach Blossom Garden", which came to Shanghai for the first time, performed for 6 consecutive days, the scene was full, Lin Qingxia and Lai Shengchuan's friend Li Ang successively held the scene, setting off a "crush fever". Since then, "Crush on Peach Blossom Garden" has met with Shanghai audiences on the stage of the Shanghai Grand Theatre several times. This weekend, the classic version of "Crush on Peach Blossom Garden" will return again.
