1.06 million indigenous fish of the Chishui River are concentrated and released into the Chishui River

Kunming, Nov. 4 (Xinhua) -- The 2021 Chishui River Basin (Yunnan Section) Fishery Resources Enhancement and Stocking Activity was held on the 3rd in Zhenxiong County, Zhaotong City, Yunnan Province, the birthplace of the Chishui River, and 1.06 million indigenous fish of the Chishui River were released into the Chishui River.

The Chishui River is the only first-class tributary in the upper reaches of the Yangtze River that has not built a main stream dam and can flow freely, and is a national rare and endemic fish nature reserve. The Chishui River Basin has a good ecology and pleasant scenery, and is known as "ecological river", "beautiful river" and "wine river".

According to reports, the event focused on the release of 460,000 Chinese barbed catfish, 300,000 Iwahara carp, 210,000 Kunming split-bellied fish, 50,000 Yunnan bare-lipped fish and 40,000 Jinsha perch carp. At the scene of the event, the staff of relevant departments and the representatives of the masses jointly opened bags and released fish. (End)
