Nine species of jiangxi new record spiders were found in Jiuling Mountain Reserve

Recently, many rare wild animals have frequently appeared in our province. Recently, traces of new animal partners have been found in jiuling mountain reserve in Jing'an County, Yichun City. It is reported that since the beginning of this year, the reserve has continued to conduct biological species surveys, and recently announced the results of the survey. In this survey, a total of 130 species of spiders were found, including 9 new species in Jiangxi, which is a microcosm of the effectiveness of our province's efforts to biodiversity conservation.

Spiders are the natural enemies of many agroforestry pests, play an important role in biological control, and are a type of organism that is beneficial to agroforestry conservation. At the same time, spiders are sensitive to environmental changes and are often regarded as one of the monitoring indicators of ecological and environmental quality. Yesterday, the reporter learned from the Jiuling Mountain Nature Reserve that the reserve recently collected specimens of spiders in the reserve together with the ecology and evolution team of the College of Life Sciences of Nanchang University. Through systematic investigation, a total of 2550 spider specimens were collected.

After expert collation and identification, a total of 130 species of spiders were found in this survey, including 9 new species in Jiangxi. The newly recorded species were coarse-footed disc spider, mountain bright-bellied spider, quasi-water-loving new garden spider, cylindrical worm-bellied spider, striped cat spider, raw foal cloud spider, giant thorny bruceous spider, long-tentacled claw jumping spider, and large ant spider.
