Jellyfish structures, though simple, are the "old masters" of the animal kingdom – they were born 500 million years ago. At that time, let alone people, not even fish. After experiencing the vicissitudes of the mulberry field, the other small partners around me have changed, but the jellyfish has always remained the same and basically maintained the same old appearance.
Although jellyfish have a variety of forms, most of them have a large head, and there are long tentacles under the head, and some tentacles are even as long as 20 or 30 meters, which is about the same length as the largest animal in the ocean, the blue whale.
The tentacles of the poisonous jellyfish are covered with thorns, and when they are violated, the thorns will pierce into the enemy's body and inject venom, injuring the light and killing the most serious. Among them, the Australian wasp jellyfish is the most toxic, and despite a series of measures taken by locals, tourists are still stung every year.
Jellyfish have no eyes, but they can recognize directions and escape predators. There are often some small fish and shrimp swimming around the jellyfish, usually, these small fish and shrimp swagger around the jellyfish, once the enemy attacks, the small fish and shrimp will quickly hide under the umbrella of the jellyfish. Jellyfish paralyze the attackers with poisonous tentacles and eat them. Small fish and shrimp hiding under the umbrella also took the opportunity to share together. If it is a big fish that the jellyfish can't poison, the small fish and shrimp will flee around in panic, and the jellyfish will immediately understand and escape.
Jellyfish also have a superb ability to predict wind and waves. Usually, they follow the waves in the water, and once the storm is coming, the jellyfish will resonate with the infrasound waves that come in advance, thus stimulating the jellyfish to listen to the stone in the ear. Listening to the gentle vibration of the stone will remind the jellyfish that a storm is coming. Therefore, the jellyfish took its "shrimp soldier fish" to the deep sea in advance, so as not to be crushed to pieces by the wind and waves.
This ability of jellyfish was used by scientists to develop the meteorological instrument "jellyfish ear". Jellyfish ears can predict the occurrence of storms up to 15 hours in advance, and more cleverly, they can also predict the direction in which storms will come.
