Coelacanth, also known as "empty echinospido", because of the hollow spine and named, is currently a very rare fish in the world, because scientists in the post-Cretaceous formation has not found its trace, so it is believed that this landing hero has bid farewell to the world, all extinct. In 1938 in South Africa, scientists discovered a coelacanth, a prehistoric species still alive! In the Devonian era, 400 million years ago, the ancestors of coelacanths climbed onto land with strong fins. After a period of struggle, one of them became more and more accustomed to life on land and became a true quadruped; while the other, frustrated on land, returned to the sea and found a quiet corner in the ocean, saying goodbye to the land once and for all.
This quiet corner is more than 10,000 meters deep under the sea. As we all know, it is more difficult for humans to enter the sea than to ascend to the heavens. The first is the enormous pressure: for every 10 meters increase in water depth, the pressure increases by 1 atm. At a depth of more than 10,000 meters, the pressure will be as high as more than 1,000 air pressures, not to mention flesh and blood, even ordinary steel components will be crushed. And the harsh environment of the seabed: dark, cold! The sunlight is quickly absorbed into the sea, and the light energy at 10 meters reaches 18% of the ocean surface, and only 1% at a depth of 100 meters. Light is scarce, heat is naturally difficult to retain, and the cold and darkness under the water can be imagined. However, coelacanths usually live very deep on the ocean floor and hide themselves in caves on the reefs of the seabed.
