Epilogue to "The Never Sloppy Leaf Warbler"

Zhang Yicheng (Zhejiang)

After writing fables for several years, sometimes I feel that the subject matter is very good, and it is difficult to think about it. Sometimes it's easy to pick up, it's funny, and natural. "The Never Sloppy Leaf Warbler" is a parable of the latter. I happened to see the introduction of the seamed leaf warbler, and I wrote this fable with a stroke of my wit, and I actually won the Tenth National Jinjiang Fable Literature Award. This literary award is the highest award for a single piece of Chinese fables, and is selected every two years, and only 10 awards are awarded in each session.

Professor Tan Xudong of the North China University of Technology commented on this parable: "The Never Sloppy Leaf Warbler" explores the attitude of life. Even if it is only temporary residence, the leaf warbler must carefully prepare its own nest and refuse to act hastily like other animals. In the work, we also learn about the nesting of the leaf warbler: how it finds the right leaves, and how to stitch the leaves together. These words are spoken from the mouth of the little seamed leaf warbler, which can better reflect the child's understanding and respect for the mother. It can be seen that a serious attitude towards life not only creates a beautiful and comfortable living environment, but also affects their children by words and deeds, and also wins the respect and love of their children for their parents.

Ye Shu, vice president of the Chinese Fable Literature Research Association and a famous writer, also commented that this is an excellent children's fable, and the work "even if it is only a day of life, it must be taken seriously." The moral is embodied in the story of the seamed leaf warbler building a nest and moving, which is very natural to read, without blunt preaching, both intellectual and educational.

I myself liked this fable so much that I used it as the title of the book.

The other fables collected in this book are all selected from the works I have created in recent years, and they are dedicated to my teenage friends, and I hope you will like them.
