On October 12 this year, Shanghai SC Johnson was fined 150,000 yuan by the Shanghai Pudong New Area Market Supervision and Administration Bureau for publishing advertisements without censorship. For specific reasons, in February 2017, Shanghai SC Johnson launched and sold a "Radar Jiaer Insecticide Aerosol" in a self-operated flagship store of an e-commerce platform, and the product page had promotional content such as "one bottle of multi-kill can deal with 6 kinds of pests at the same time, one bottle of multi-kill, and deal with annoying mosquitoes".

Shanghai SC Johnson partially updated the advertising content of this page in 2019, and updated the advertising content again in January 2021 due to product packaging changes, but it was not until June 10, 2021 that the advertising content of its advertising page was approved by the pesticide advertisement review. The local market supervision department believed that the above-mentioned acts of Shanghai SC Johnson constituted an illegal act of publishing unexamined pesticide product advertisements, and imposed an administrative penalty of a fine of 150,000 yuan.

It is worth noting that this is not the first time that Shanghai SC Johnson has promoted "rollover". According to the administrative penalty records, since 2015, the company has been punished by the market supervision department four times for "untrue and inaccurate advertising citations, and did not indicate the source", "misleading publicity", "containing false or misleading content", etc., with a cumulative fine of 750,000 yuan. In addition, Shanghai SC Johnson has also been notified by the market supervision department for "passing off unqualified products as qualified products", "violating the air pollution prevention and control management system", "testing and evaluation results of occupational disease hazard factors in the workplace have not been announced".

According to public information, Shanghai SC Johnson was originally a joint venture jointly invested by SC Johnson & Sons of the United States and Shanghai Jahwa (Group) Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Shanghai Jahwa"), and after Shanghai Jahwa withdrew its shares in August 2015, the company's equity became wholly owned by SC Johnson in the United States, and the type of enterprise was changed to wholly owned by a foreign legal person. According to the brand classification information, Radar, Bi Li Zhu, Mr. Wei Meng, toilet cleaner, etc. are all brands of SC Johnson.
