Hong Kong, Nov 4 (China News Service) -- The Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks Corporation (HKSTP) announced on November 4 that it has established a strategic partnership with Ant Group to support local start-ups in Hong Kong to commercialize and launch ideas to the market, thereby promoting Hong Kong's development into an international innovation and technology hub.
Under the co-operation agreement, HKSTPC will provide venue and logistics support and assist in connecting more than 1,000 high-potential technology enterprises participating in the incubation scheme for relevant discussions. Driven by technology, innovation and committed to promoting an open platform for financial inclusion, Ant Group will provide enterprises with the business insights and resources they need, including a platform that can be used as a proof-of-concept test and to assess the feasibility of equity investments.
Wong Kek Kek, Chief Executive Officer of Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks Corporation, said he was delighted to establish cooperation with Ant Group. Ant Group is the world's top industry leader, and Alipay is one of the world's largest electronic payment platforms. By combining hkSTP's thriving start-up ecosystem and related knowledge, as well as Ant Group's financial services and technology advantages, the two companies will jointly create new fintech innovation opportunities for entrepreneurs in and around the Greater Bay Area.

According to reports, at the beginning of the project, the start-ups and the management of Ant Group will be arranged to conduct online meetings and mutual visits to jointly explore potential business opportunities. HKSTPC and Ant Group also look forward to organising industry events in the future to showcase outstanding innovative solutions and assist SciSPARK in developing its infrastructure and products through intellectual property licensing and joint development agreements.
