On July 15th, Guangzhou Library and Nansha District Library jointly created a special theme branch project - timetable Innovation and Entrepreneurship Theme Branch Library opened for trial operation. The branch is located in the "Chuangxiang Bay Timetable Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Youth Innovation and Entrepreneurship Base" at No. 132 Jiaoxi Road, Huangge Town, Nansha District, with the Theme Area of Innovation and Entrepreneurship in the Greater Bay Area, consulting service area, children's reading corner, public activities and auxiliary service areas, and is included in the city's loan and return service system.
The new Baiyun District Library in Baiyun New City was officially opened on September 27 after nearly half a year of trial operation. As the first district-level library in Guangzhou to use public construction to solve the library venue, the new library of Baiyun District Library is designed by Academician He Jingtang and is the first high-frequency library in China.

On September 28th, the first day of the opening of Guangzhou Metro Line 18, the Branch library of Guangzhou Library-Panyu Square Metro Station was also opened at the same time. Located in the station hall of Panyu Square Station of Metro Line 18 and Line 22, the branch library is jointly built by Guangzhou Library and Guangdong Intercity Railway Operation Co., Ltd., and is included in the city's loan and return service system, so that citizens can easily borrow and return books during commuting.
In late October, the new Yongping Branch of Baiyun District Library was opened to the public. Located on the fifth floor of anhuahui public building at 886 Baiyun Avenue North, the new museum has a collection of about 38,000 books and a reading area for adults and children. The former Wing Ping Branch (Old Library) located at 2 Lingnan New World Jicheng Street, Yongping Street was renamed as Lingnan New World Service Point on Yongping Street, Baiyun District Library.
The new Nansha District Library, which was put into trial operation in December 2020, has opened five multi-functional rooms such as "Banana Window Ink Fragrance" and "Qingshui Famous Yan" this year, as well as areas such as the incorruptible book corner and the special reading room.
In addition, according to the "Annual Report on the Construction of the "City of Libraries" in Guangzhou (2020)", the construction project of the new library in Tianhe and Liwan Districts has been included in the "Special Plan for the Layout of Public Cultural Facilities in Guangzhou (2020-2035)"; the planning conditions for the plot of the Guangzhou Science and Technology Library have been issued, and the follow-up work is being promoted. According to the public information of the Panyu District Bureau of Culture, Tourism and Sports, the new library of Panyu District is actively and orderly promoting the decoration and mechanical and electrical installation projects, and strives to complete the construction and deliver it in mid-2022. In the next few years, Guangzhou will also build a number of large and medium-sized libraries.
